Need some info on corner balancing
I recently had my 2007 Z06 suspension replaced with Phadt sway bars and a set of Bilstein Coilovers. I also had the car corner balanced because the shop doing the work said it had to be done, when installing coilovers. My question is what is a fair price for the corner balance? I'm sure I got taken to the cleaners but I want to here what others have to say before I tell you the shop that did the work.

Wow 300.00 I wonder if that about the normal rate. I got stuck with $1500.00. Yes I said $1500.00. For corner balancing only. Of course I paid for the coil over install on top of that. Needless to say I will never visit MTI Racing again.

I was quoted $2 to $300 also.
Was the $1,500 for the install of all the parts along with the corner balancing, if so it is still to much.
I did the Pfadt kit in my garage in 5 hours and never did it before, so at $100 a hour plus the $300' plus misc stuff. $1,500 sounds like a bit much.
One more thing, an alignment could add a couple hundred to the job.

Wow, $1500 is a direct rip off MTI should be ashamed of themselves. You can buy a four corner scale set up for close to that price. I can't even believe that they would even try to charge you that.

Yea the sad part is this was a friend deal and when I called them out on it, per MTI they called several shops and were in the ballpark. I had some other work done by them at the same time total bill was just over 13k. Got Vengeance Racing to quote the same work and parts install and guess what 9800.00. Yep over 3k difference and MTI didn't even try to explain except they are priced where other shops are priced at.

Both my '05 and my '08 were checked for corner weight, $40 to check with an alignment. If I would have had adjustments made it was $80 an hour till I was satisfied with the balance.
The corner weight had to be checked and if need be had to be done before the alignment since changing corner weights is done by adjusting ride height and changing ride height changes alignment.

Falcon Tech,
Look up how to corner balance. Its just a matter of using a wrench to loosen or tighten each coilover perch.
Soooo simple. After U see a video. U will realize an hours work is not worth $1500.00 bucks. Even if it takes them 2 hours. that is 750 an hour.
Stop the payment !!!!!!!!

The $1500 MTI charges to install coilover's is not just corner balancing. When we install a coilover suspension it includes coilover installation, ride height adjustment, corner balancing, and alignment. To get the proper ride height you make an adjustment, measure, drive car, measure and make adjustment, repeat, can be very time consuming. In no way did MTI Racing to overcharge or take advantage of Falcon Tech.

The OP claims in two different posts that the corner balancing was separate and and that he paid full price of $1500 just for corner balance + more $$ for installation (and parts?).
I need to see an invoice to prove who paid how much for what.

MTI could not be as successful as they are by taking advantage of people. If you start to do the math on what they are doing for $1500, it appears fair to me.
Getting the ride height and alignment correct takes time, and time is money.

Ok my bad part of the 1500 was to install the coil overs so 2 hours on that and the rest for the chassis set up. Does that not seem high. OK so the alignment there was no mention of that on the invoice but ok 75.00. So my math 200 for coil over install even 300 at the high end 75.00 for the alignment and 1125 for the chassis set up. So far who thinks this is reasonable. I have attached the invoice for you all to see. You tell me if this is reasonable or not.
