$3k is not going to get you 500hp to the rear wheels unless you put a nitrous kit on the car.
My '05 auto car made 381rwhp/396rwtq with a FAST102 intake, headers, no cats and Flowmaster mufflers.
You will need heads, cam, intake, headers, etc... to see 500rwhp without a power adder of some kind.
A blower kit will get you beyond your goals with no other mods to the car.
It will also drive like bone stock... which is completely out of the question with a heads/cam combo.
Nitrous will get you there too... but is a PITA to deal with bottle refills and maintaining bottle temps.
I've had every combination. Blowers, turbos, nitrous, heads/cams/etc...
I can say with absolute certainty... my current blower car is the most practical and daily-driver friendly car I've owned. My GN turbo cars were a close 2nd.

I thought these cars put out 400hp now I know that not to the wheels but jeez do they really lose that much hp? Realistically I'd like about 475 before it hits the wheels I guess but even that seems out of reach now. Headers are a must, a fast intake is a must and I'd like to do a cam then if everybody is saying a bigger throttle body is pointless. Thanks for all the replies I wish there was a vendor on here that was close to me. Seems like all the good ones that have awesome deals on installed parts are in ca and fl.

I'm thinking more and more of doing just headers and intake with a proper tune, and if that satisfies my needs I'll be done. If not well there's always more mods I can do! I'm thinking some slp headers to go with my slp exhaust and a ported fast intake.

Burning Brakes
All the old stuff dropped right out and the headers slipped right up into place without having to remove the starter or anything.
VERY simple job.

Vararam CAI, Fast intake and SW headers (with a Cartek dyno tune) got me to 381rwhp.
The car was MUCH nicer to drive also.

I have Stainless Works 1-7/8" headers on my car... and I can say without a doubt... they were the easiest header install I've EVER done.

I don't remember how long it took. I did it almost 2 years ago.
It wasn't more than an afternoon job though.
Just be sure to get O2 sensor extensions because the stock harness won't reach far enough down the headers to plug in the O2 sensors.
I didn't use gaskets either. I used orange hi-temp silicone between the headers and the heads. Unlike gaskets... they will NEVER leak.

lg streets, peak ported intake/tb, slp air intake, 160 stat, nice tune
anything along these lines wakes it up nicely
also you can try some crane quick lifts 1.8intake, 1.7 exhaust (springs need to be changed)
also a nice trans tune helps as well
replace the tunnel brace too while the headers are out
certainly helps
keep in mind, this sport is not cheap, especially if you can't get decent used parts

Superchargers are great for making instant power, really shouldn't take away from the driving experience, just maybe change it a little bit as you will have monster power at all times!!
Heads, cam & intake car is a totally different all motor experience, this combo will give you more of a true classic muscle car feel.
Either way driving your car with either one will be more fun when the car was bone stock.

If you have everything set up right..... be it big cam or supercharger, then a supercharger will effect your DD aspect a lot less then a big cam. Plus you will make more power with boost then just going H/E/I/C. It's easier to make more power later with a supercharger, and as long as your system has a bypass then you won't effect your fuel mileage.

My car makes over 600hp at the rear wheels...
I guarantee if you drove it... you would not know it was supercharged until you stuck your foot in it.
It drives like bone stock.
That's no BS... and I'm not trying to sell you a supercharger.
