not enough noise
I just had ARH headers,FAST intake and a K&N filter system and a tune installed this week.I left the mufflers stock and am having regrets doing so. Everything works great except at idle and low speeds.I can only hear the exhaust when I punch it. I am looking at putting some Corsa Sport mufflers on to make a little more varoooom. Any thoughts would be welcome. I don`t want too loud or too quiet just some header sound at idle and low cruising speed. Thanx in advance,Bat Pig out.

Remember everything is a "GIVE & TAKE" Yes the Corsa mufflers may sound nice at an idle and around town, BUT you might get "DRONE" on the highway... and (trust me I know) on a long trip (50 or more miles) DRONE can be a killer.. I have had several different types of mufflers on my 1997 Camaro, and on my 1996 C4..
I sold the C4 and bought my C6 and I race it (drag race) in most weekends at Englishtown which is a 100 mile drive ONE WAY..
I would have shot myself if I had to drive that far with DRONE...On my current car (C6) I have Kooks long tube headers, FAST102 intake, a Tune by Cartek, and a 2800 converter.. It runs 11.6 @ 117 MPH in the 1/4 mile...
Now in July & Aug after a long day at the track, & I'm all sweaty, & tired.. I don't mind the 100 mile drive home because I have STOCK mufflers, and I just turn on the AC, and play some good CD's and I DON'T hear any drone,,,
Now you may be different and the drone wont bother you, then I'd say "GO FOR IT" and get some kind of aftermarket muffler.. but FIRST I'd suggest you find someone who had aftermarket mufflers, and take a ride with him for 30 - 40 miles. and see how you like them...
If it sounds good, you can do it.. but for me it will always be STOCK mufflers.. Right now I'm having my motor built to a 403 ci stroker with all of the above goodies i.e. Headers, Vararam, FAST intake, etc..etc.. I should be able to run in the high 10 sec zone or damn close to it.. but it WILL BE WITH STOCK MUFFLERS!!
Good luck on you quest for better sound....

I just drive mine with kooks headers and Corsas up the north way to lake pal acid for over a hundred miles. The only people who don't like the sound are the tight wad hippies up here. I love them at any speeds, especially on the downshift!

Bi-mode mufflers work well. Open for me and closed for the wife makes us both happy.

I agree 100%.....very few give bassani the credit it deserves. I think its a cross between borla & corsa (sounding). Has a deep muscle car tone below 2k rpm,but develops a mean raspy, raw, exotic sounding tone from there on up. I get a TON of compliments on my exhaust.
Kooks 1 3/4 catless headers,bassani cat back

I have your exact setup ARH, Fast 102, K&N with Corsa Sports and really like it. It's pretty loud and does a lot of snarling and popping on deceleration, but there is no drone at cruising speeds. Highway driving is a pleasure.
