Default Reset button will not work after oil change

My sister also owns a 07, 3LT vert. I changed her oil yesterday and the rest button will not set the oil life back to 99%. Is there something I can do to reset or has the circuit board gone bad at the reset connection?

How to Reset the Engine Oil Life
System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to
change your engine oil and filter based on vehicle
use. Anytime your oil is changed, reset the
system so it can calculate when the next oil
change is required. If a situation occurs where you
change your oil prior to a CHANGE ENGINE
OIL message being turned on, reset the system.
To reset the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message after
an oil change, do the following:
1. Press the TRIP button so the OIL LIFE
percentage is displayed.
2. Press RESET and hold for two seconds. OIL
LIFE REMAINING 100% will appear.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes
back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil
life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

After that, I've got nuttin'.

Sorry, did all that. Also tried to reset some personal Preferences and that did not work either. Must be the board.
Funny thing, on my 07 the Oil Life will only go back to 99% after changing.

Thanks

I can't help you with your problem but if you're trying to reset the OLM while the car is running, it will only reset to 99%. If the car is off it resets to 100%. Just some useless knowledge for you.

We will try the reset for an extended length of time while the engine is not running but the ignition is on. Might work. Thanks.

For my 99% oil life, I crank the 07 after the oil change to make sure there is good pressure and hit the Oil Life reset button at idle, so that is why I get only 99%. After all these 78,000 miles oil changes (6 years), who knew.

Hope the above advice fixes my sisters car. Thanks again.

If the reset doesn't work on other functions like average fuel economy, trip mileage, etc., then the most likely culprit is the reset button switch itself. I don't remember well anymore, but I think the board on the back of the panel just screws into place. The button just contacts the switch on the board. It's possible the board has moved back far enough that the button no longer can reach the switch.

Try the old way...press the start button with it in drive or the clutch out and then press the accelerator three times within 10 or 15 seconds...

I think it has to be in run mode but not running to work this way...but it will re-set it.

1) Turn the ignition to run, one position before starting engine.
2) Press the TRIP button so the oil life % is displayed.
3) Press the RESET and hold for 2 seconds. OIL LIFE REMAINING 100% will appear.
4) Turn the ignition off and then start the engine. Now verify that the indicator has been reset.

I followed these steps. For steps #2 above you need to wait until you hear a couple of beeps before it will shows reset. I only got reset to 99% but I'm OK with that. Just had the oil changed less than 100 miles ago.

Thx for the tips guys!
