Default How to increase Turn Signal tic tic Volume

This may sound like a silly posting but the tic tic tic on my 2008 C6 is so low it is about useless. Is there anyway to make tic tic tic louder?

You could try a new relay.

Does the relay generate the sound? Do you know where it is located? Good suggestion and a relay should not be expensive.

It does generate the sound and I think it's down by the passenger floor fuse box. Just turn the signal on and follow the sound.

Thanks! I tried it and it was too hard with the temp over 100 deg, engine and exhaust drown out the tic tic. I had the panel open and could not hear anything like a tic tic. Gave up looking and checked the manual there is nothing listed for turn signals or flasher. When I do hear the tic tic, it sounds like it coming from behind the dash.

I was wrong. Its actually part of the hazzard warning switch at the top of the center console.

Sounds like a PITA to gain access. Knowing GM the flasher assembly will have a computer price tag

The turn signal doesn't use a flasher, the sound is generated by the BCM or ECM. As far as I know it isn't adjustable for volume.

I was afraid of that would be the answer. Replacing the expensive ECM may not even increase the volume of the tic-tic-tic. I can only conclude there is nothing wrong with mine that is just a crappy GM design.

Just can't hear it over the engine sound. My C5 and my wife's Edge can be heard. GM overkilled on the C5 seat belt warning. It is really loud but the turn signal tic is too low.

End of topic..... i will just learn to live with it. The backup is the DIC goes off if you forget to cancel the turn signal and it is really loud.

Just mouth it. Soon as you flick the stalk, start saying "tick tock tick tock tick tock" out loud until you've completed your maneuver.

I have the same problem; with road noise, or radio playing, my wife is the one who says "turn off your turn signals!"...... wish it was louder too.

Yours tic, tic, tics. I've never heard mine. I didn't know it was supposed to do that. Not a big deal as far as I'm concerned. I know if I forget to turn it off I hear a load chime.
