Default What differential will fit into a 05 c6

want to know what will work and what will I have to change, want to go from 2.73 to 3.42 , I have tried to search other threads but cant get a clear answer. Threads get jack to ask about other year models. I have a 05 c6 with the a4 tranny. any info would be a help before I spend some bad money. Does gm make a factory gear to swap into that rear end , WHAT WILL WORK IS THE QUESTION ,,, THANKS IN ADVANCE

you can put a c5 dif or a 2nd generation c6 dif with an adapter from rpm, or a c6 zo6 dif but you have to change the mainshaft in the trans,

any idea what that 30 spline mainshaft for the A4 costs from RPM to use the Z06 diff and whether a stock size convertor will work with it. thanks Dan

I got into a deal and they are the ones that know all the answers. Not to say that there are not others that do also, just that my experience with them has been positive.

contact stanger383 he put a c5 342 manual rear in his 05 a4 c6 he made the mounts, or you can buy a c6 2nd generation 342 manual and buy the adapter from rpm, i got an 07 case and bought 1 2010 sidecover and 1 2008 sidecover and put my gears and diferential in them with the rpm adapter, i already had 373 gears in my 05 when it cracked the case

Are you looking for a differential to race or just gears? I have a diff from my 2005 A4 that has Z06 C5 internals with 42000 miles on them. They are 3.42 shot peened OEM GM parts. This diff is a direct bolt on for you. And Motive makes gears for your diff too.
