You will see the balancer wobbling if it is bad.

AC tensioner pulley is a common point of squeaking.

There will be some slight movement of the balancer. If it is bad, it will be obvious. If you are in doubt, check YouTube for videos of the wobble. The labor is pretty hefty if it needs replaced.

Oh boy. If the balancer bolt isn't on, you have a problem. It is probably wobbling pretty bad.

Bolt is torque to yield, and needs to be replaced. They are $6 at the dealership.

Don't drive the car.

you will need to replace the balancer and the bolt. do yourself a favor and do a search and read up on it so you are in the know. do not replace with another oem balancer and bolt.

TSB repairs are not free. Recall repairs are free. The dealer will probably put the revised bolt/washer on it and check for severe wobble. If there is none your out the door. I would not want another GM balancer if its bad.

Lolol I know that... Someone told me because of the TSB that some dealers will do it for free I heard it was due to the machine putting to much or not enough torque on the bolt... It's a shame so many people have to suffer for their mistake!!!
