Default Bilstein HD Shocks

I ordered all four Bilstein HD shocks online...Tuesday last week from eshocks for $326 total. Got them on Saturday morning and had them installed by 4pm.

The ride seems smother and bumps on the road are not so harsh any more. Cornering seems about the same thus far, but I don't usually push the car that way anyway. Overall, the shcoks improved the ride and likely the handling. This is with very worn out front Goodyear tires.

Up next, paint the rims graphite and get some Hankook tires.

I added the HD's to my Z51 equipped Vette. Preferred them over the Sport. Great mod., enjoy them.

I would like to add Z51 sway bars in the future...or maybe even Z06 bars.

The HDs are softer...the Sports are more track oriented.

Softer though is a relative term..."softer" compared to racing shocks. Compared with Cadillac shocks, they are very firm. The improvement I saw was a smother ride vs. harsh and jittery with the factory shocks. It seems the tires are maintaining more contact with the road now than before.

I know I'm splitting hairs, but I don't want to give the wrong impression.

The HD are softer. The sports were designed for the Z51 suspension, but many have mixed the combo. It's a matter of personal preference and roads you drive on. I have the Z51 with the Sports and they really work well together. One of my best mods.

I put the HDs on my car and love them...the place where they shine is a bumpy curvy road. I suggest doing the Z51 bars also...the combo of the bars and Bilsteins is really great. The Z06 bars are too stiff for a car with base size tires. Unlike the common wisdom here on the forum, more is not always better.

dont go Z06 unless your putting on wider rims/rubber.

Also, like others say. HD if you want a solid yet not as harsh ride. If you are putting z51 bars in then i might assume you want to go for the sports?
