Hi Everyone!
C5/C6/ C7 Corvette owners know that the front skid plates are vulnerable to getting bumped and scraped. Fangs from SacCityCorvette provide the best possible protection available for your front skid Plates/Lower Radiator support on your C5/C6 / C7 Corvette. Made of a High Impact Superior Performance Plastic, the C5/C6/ C7 Fangs are extremely impact resistant and 6 times more abrasion resistant than steel and Installation only takes a few minutes. Being only 1/8" thick you will not even notice any clearance loss. There is NO drilling or modification required! C5 Fangs are a simple 10 minute bolt on using your factory bolts.C6, you simply glue them on or if you prefer, they can be screwed if you order the screw on kit. It comes with drill bit and tapping screws. Once the Fangs are installed you will have the best protection available. $49.99 is a very small price to pay for such good protection of such an expensive part of your Vette!
(Note: we still have the screw on C6 Fangs for those who prefer them. Check our website)

Some of the Benefits
1) They are only 1/8” thick so there is no noticeable ground clearance loss. That’s very important since there is not much clearance there to begin with!

2)The superior performance plastic we use is 6 times more abrasion resistant than steel making them slide very smoothly over what ever they come into contact with.

3)They perform perfectly in hot or cold weather.

4) They distribute the load over the entire skid plate where it is the strongest and can evenly distributes the impact, not on one side or the other where the side load can bend skid plate.

5)There are no moving parts to wear out.

6)They only weigh 5oz for those that worry about weight.

7)There is no drilling or modification needed to install them

8)The Fangs give protection over the entire skid plate. So if you bump up on a parking block like we demonstrate in our video you are protected from the front to back and from the highest point of the skid plate to the lowest.

9)They look like something that came on your Vette from the factory.

Here is a video of the Fangs getting used!

C6 Glue Fangs

Fangs will help prevent this from happening.

No gluing for the C5 Fangs. They bolt on with factory bolts.

But if you bottom out with the fangs on, your car will look just as crummy.

Not exactly. Fangs don't show the scratches as much and don't dent, and may also keep you from breaking the radiator support.

Some constructive observations on the Fangs.

Service: outstanding. Ordered saturday, shipped from CA saturday, received in CO monday.

Quality: the Fangs are well made, high quality, probably HDPE injection molded. Gorilla Glue, two small tubes, now included instead of whatever was in the bottle the video showed. Best glue out there. Tie wraps--too flimsy. One broke while I was trying to tighten it as in the video. For a few cents more, send more rugged wraps. Sand paper: you've got to be kidding me! Two very small pieces that no way can sand the skidplates properly. Send decent sizes, if you're going to include them at all. Not really needed, as I have plenty of sand paper and used it and steel wool to scuff the paint. Most people will also have their own stuff. Little water bottle was perfect for spraying things down. Nitrile gloves were a nice touch, but I didn't use them. I also used paint thinner to wipe down the skid plates after sanding and then used the included alcohol wipe. They appear to be on really tight, even though I didn't remove most of the paint, but just scuffed it up well.

Installation: toughest part was getting the damned wire wraps through the top of the brace! Really need three hands. Ended up using needlenosed pliers to grab it and pull it through. The weld that sticks out on the side of the skid plates also pushes out the Fang at that point, as I thought it would. And glue extruded through around it on the pass side Fang. That could just be because I put too much around it. Doubt it will affect the tightness, as there is plenty of glued surface area and they seem to be stuck on very well. Probably, someone who is not a klutz wouldn't have the glue extrude. The driver side seemed to cover over the weld better, so it was probably my doing. That was also the side the wire wrap snapped on.

Price: Having worked in manufacturing for many years, you pay for the invention, the tooling and other sunk costs in the per unit price. Are they worth $50 on face value? Hell no. But considering the sunk costs, the price is fair and imo, the benefit is real and I'll feel it everytime my Vette scrapes on my driveway entrance.

Conclusion: a very good product, with tangible benefits, at a fair price. Also, a great company to deal with.

Thank you corvetteflier for your business and your constructive observations.
We are always open to hearing about things that our customers would like to see changed or improved upon. And we do our best listen and make changes that improve our products. So we will be adding stronger quick tie straps bigger sand paper.
Just a note- we like to see the glue extrude out, that way we know the glue has sealed the Fang completely for best adhesion. If you let it dry, the glue the has oozed out can easily be peeled off.

Thank you,
Christian
