Is the battery the original? If so, I'd be suspicious, even though you had the voltage checked. Replacement is a small expense to eliminate a possible source of your problem. These cars are extremely sensitive to battery malfunction.

The answer to your won't start problem depends on what you mean by "won't start".
Do you mean that the starter turns the engine but the engine won't fire or;
Do you mean the starter won't turn over at all?
Most likely it's a bad battery or battery cable connection in either case.

So.....you may not be able to rule the car battery out as a problem.

Clutch pedal switch could have gone out, or it could be as simple as your floormat is not letting the clutch pedal go down enough to engage the switch. Also could be a broken clutch pedal spring blocking the switch, that happens too.
I'd investigate down around the clutch pedal switch.

check the clutch pedal switch. it went out on my 05, nearly gave me a heart attack thinking the new column lock was giving up again.
i believe it's a $7? part at autozone with lifetime warranty, so that's what i used and it's been good since and if it ever fails, can go back and get warranty replacement.
i tested it by removing the switch and using paper clip to connect the line that goes into the switch, per a post on here, and it started right up and confirmed it was the switch.

When the needles swing its not a fob issue. I sometimes get the no fob detected message when my phone is in my fob pocket my mistake. The needles will not swing in that instance.
