Only personal preference. I guess some think they look nicer with the coating and maybe there is some heat insulating qualities, but I'm perfectly happy with my AR non coated headers and dont have a heat issue.

I like the looks of the coatings and the lower temps they provide and the coating isn't going to cost me anything.
