Default Strapped for cash, bought Autolite Platinum"s

Long story short, I broke a couple of plugs, decided to get a new set as the ones I removed had been in at least since 2008. Times are tough right now, so I went with the inexpensive Autolite AP5245.

I checked the Autolite Website, didn't find anything specific to my car, it just says for this plug the gap should be set at .063 they came pre-gapped at .060

So I google "LS2 spark plug gap" & just about everyone is setting their gaps much lower. I don't know, but I've read that the C6 corvette comes with .040 on an NGK plug.

Why would these Autolites be so far off?
