But, if he wants that low RPM pull, go with the PD blower, keep the stock gears, and keep his gas mileage. 4.10 gears will kill your highway gas mileage and just accelerates the wear on the drivetrain.

Oh come on....we all know that a ZR1 is not a base C6 with a blower on it.

Start with a 60,000 MSRP GS and add the wheels, tires, transmission, rear-end, exhaust, PD blower, brakes, suspension, carbon fiber and everything else and you come up with a pretty hefty pricetag.

I do believe the ZR1 is overpriced though, I just don't agree with your reasoning on the point you were making because the ZR1 is not an LS3 with a blower.

OP....Once you get past all the hype about which type of supercharger makes the most horsepower for the cheapest price you will want to examine everything else in the equation that makes up a daily driver and things you have to live with on a daily basis.

ONE of the disadvantages of running a centri setup in a daily driver is discussed in this thread... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...percharge.html

Of course I know that a LS9 is not a LS3 with a blower on top. My point was that you can't hang a $5,000 centi on a LS3 and say " I got more horsepower then you did for way less dollars" which is all I hear from you guys. I was referring to the amount of money GM charges for their different engine packages(including the car it comes in) and in that cost is R&D so the car will pass all emissions and last for 100,000+ miles with a warranty. Of course, with the only blown option from GM, you get a lot more then just a blower.

This what I posted "Now GM builds various engines to suit different markets. You can buy a base C6 with 430bhp for $50,000 MSRP or a 638bhp ZR1 for $120,000 MSRP. No where did I make a statement that a ZR1 is nothing but a LS3 with a blower. But, why don't you answer my question instead of deflecting.
Here it is again......."Why don't you educate me at to why I can't buy a new C6 from GM with 638bhp for $55,000 based on the 430 bhp LS3? After all, the $5000 additional cost is all a centi costs."

I just recently installed an e-force on my 2010 Grandsport. A couple of things got me to do this. One....it's edelbrock. Two....fits under the stock hood. Three...it looks great....Four....great HP gains. Five....this is what is basically on the ZR1. Six...you can get an optional warranty. So far really happy with mine. Just my two cents. I know some will not agree. Each is to thier own.

What exactly does that "warranty" cover or is it basically one of those not worth the paper it's written on?

What is the difference in the cooling system between the Edelbrock and ZR1?

Thanks.

That is certainly much better than I expected but I wonder if anyone has ever had to collect. I know of another "well known" performance dealer that also has a warranty but collecting in pretty much impossible plus you have to take the car back to them. If Edelbrock covers that's though to beat even the trans and diff coverage is far short of actual cost.

Default Corvette tuner in Tampa

Yesterday, I just happen to tune a 2005 A4 Corvette with an A&A kit on it.

I got stuck in stop and go traffic for about 30 minutes to cover 3 miles, and I was impressed how normal the car felt in the heavy traffic. It really drove like stock until you didnt want it to, then it was scary.

Very impressive set up for the LS2.
