Default LS2 Intake VS Fast Intake.

Hay guys, I just picked up my new in the box Fast Intake today and needed to get it installed and dyno tuned. Luckily Geoff Cope at LMR "Late Model Racecraft" was able to help me out. They are located at 11755 West Little York Rd. STE 106, Houston, TX 77041 (713) 466-9900. http://latemodelracecraft.com/

The dyno pic below is a base line pull before the install of the Fast intake and my final pull with the Fast intake manifold installed.

The overall numbers are as follows:

RWHP increase by 28.29 hp.
RWTQ increase by 27.07 tq.

I do have a mild heads and cam setup. Also there is more info in my profile.

I would like to thank LMR and corvette forum member FloydSummerOf68, who helped me decide on this upgrade.

nice! A friend of mine at GM tells me that a fast on an LS2 makes a big difference, but not on an LS3 and this verifies it!

Well...to be precise, this verifies half of that theory! It doesn's speak to the ls3 side of the coin.

OP I found the track gains to be higher than the dyno gains would indicate...the FAST is a GREAT mod for the ls2.

That car of yours is really rich...you'd get more power if you leaned it some, FYI. I personally run 12.5 and some guys go up to 12.9. But rich is safe, particularly if you are a road course maven.

Huge gains...excellent

I bet it feels GREAT from about 40-70 now. That's where I felt a huge surge in the powerband.

Nothing seems "off"

He lists that the cam he's running is a 220/224 and the tune is obviously on the safe/rich side. I mean look, it's only running probably 11.0-11.5:1

A larger cam would net another 30-35rwhp with those heads, lean it out a bit and put him at an easy 460-470rwhp through an auto tranny.

All seems about right to me, but yes, it's a VERY mild build with that cam.

Well yeah, the peak numbers might appear a little light but I was merely commenting on his gains from the FAST intake, they are in line with what other internally modded LS2s have gotten and the results were quite strong.

Was your OEM manifold ported or stock? How much of a diff between a heavily ported (formato stage 2) OEM manifold and a Fast?

$900 + then install $ for 28 hp? I'm happy for the OP though.

Install takes ~1 hour

Yes, for the cost, it's one of the best mods for the LS2. I mean, look at the huge torque increase across the entire powerband.

Sir, a while back I was told that maybe my stage 3 heads was a little to big for my mild cam. So maybe the stage 3 heads reduces the velocity, which in turn reduces my over all HP. I am not an engineer, so do not flame me to much.

Thanks for the info! I do not drag race, but love to cruze the back roads. My 07 has about 124,XXX miles on it.

The increase in HP/TQ is noticeable, also the increased throttle response is very nice.

Sir, my stock manifold was not ported and the fast manifold also was not ported.
