I don't know too much about high flow cats. Are these simple bolt on without cutting etc... Also, will the car still pass emissions? Thx.

I think I decided to find z06 mufflers, add some 3" xpipe to fit my z06 manifolds and to mod the z06 mufflers.

Anyone wants to buy my GHL race exhaust? $600 shipped!

The cats i put on were not bolt on. Pipes had to be cut and welded. Took about 2 hours for the muffler shop to do a perfect job.

As far as emissions, I dont know for sure but I would assume that they should pass.

I really didnt have a choice to change my factory cats...... lol

Lingenfelter puts them on their packages and they claim 49 state legal. Usually welded on.

Blower, KOOKSw/3" high flow cat mid and Corsa Xtreme. A friend has the stock setup with Bullets and I'm louder than him. Drone in the 1600 range but it's tolerable although I try to avoid that range.

1 7/8 AR Headers w/cats, NPP mufflers with M2W. I run with it closed about 90% of the time and it is nice and quiet with a mild rumble plus a little bit of attitude. (wife approved) When I want to play, hit the button and it is loud as hell and sounds like an Indy race car. After I get my Corvette fix, push the button and it goes back to stealth mode. If I leave the mufflers open, it has considerable drone at around 1800 ~ 2000 rpm. Personally, I don't like it for cruising, but when you get on it, this setup is music to my ears.

This is the same setup that I have, but I really don't care for it much. Too quiet closed, too much drone open. I'm going to try propping the butterflies partially open and see if that satisfies me. If not, I'll eventually be muffler shopping too. I'd like to hear the Borla stingers with headers.

Kook's long tube headers, high flow cats, corsa sport exhaust, plus a cam. Sounds like an inboard boat motor when it's idling and like a ferrari when I'm at WOT. Next to no drone on the inside at all.

Same setup on my 07 A6. I had no drone with the NPP closed before the ARHeaders w/hi-Flow Cats were installed but have it now at 1500-1800 rpm right in the middle of highway cruising at 65-75 mph. Nick at ARH installed resonators which provided some reduction but I still have drone while cruising with the valves closed. I may try some Dynamat Extreme to get rid of the drone but if that doesn't work, I may take them off. That would be a last resort as they sound awesome while aggressive driving with the valves open.

1-3/4 headers, O/R X pipe, Callaway Double-D axleback.

Quiet as a church mouse at idle and cruise, not very loud when you stand on it.

Corsa Sport. There is some drone at idle, but it is not objectionable. I have what I consider a good sound when accelerating.

I have Corsa Sports on my '06. They are too tame for me, but there is no drone. I wish I had gone w/ the MBRP instead. Trans is manual.

I've got LG Pros on mine with modified stock non NPP exhaust. It's got a great sound. I've also got a set of modified Z06 exhausts and damn if I don't like the modified non NPP mufflers better. Great sound, no drone and just a great all around good sound.

Ok so I'm waiting for z06 mufflers and hpipe to come.

Then I'm gonna bring z06 mufflers to the exhaust shop and have them weld the a straight pipe in the open mode pipe.

Thinking about doing X-Pipe. How different is it from the hpipe? I know there's no performance gain out of that change. Was told by shop it would cost me $100 with labor to make H an X.

You can be confident that these systems do not drone at any RPM, in any gear, manual or automatic.

Cheers
What about with headers?

Kooks 1 7/8" headers, 3" catless x-pipe, Z06 mufflers (no muffler mod), NPP in a box... Screams under 1/2 to WOT over 3500... Nice growl below 3500... Can still quiet it completely up with the controller.
No drone at all either!

I just installed a z06 exhaust with the modification.

It is much more quiet than my old GHL at the idle and it screams at wide open throttle!!!

I have the Corsa Xtreme cat-back on my 2011. No complaints whatsoever. It's MUCH louder and throatier outside the car, but not at all intrusive on the inside. The interior noise floor is raised slightly, but you can easily have a conversation or listen to the stereo.
