Re: Front license plate? (Tombone)
At the LA auto show there was a Chevy rep. that had all the info on the C6. He said that it could be ordered with the license plate bracket. That means they would drill 2 holes in front to hold a frame. It would be on the front nose clip.

It would be on the front nose clip.
Is it centered? To one side? Below the upper lip, or in the middle on it? Curious minds want to know. It would appear that this will look much worse than a C5 wearing its front plate.

Re: Front license plate?
To all those people that said a front plate on C4's and C5's look bad, I say they at least had a place designed into the car for a front plate. The C6 does not, so it will look worse and screws with the lines of the car.

This is more of the crap that disappoints me about some of the stuff having to do with Corvettes.
They must know that some states require licence plates, why not put a little effort into deesigning a way to integrate the plate in. It will look hideous just stuck on the front like that! :mad
They do an excellant job with the overall vehicle, then for some stupid reason there is always some (minor from the overall perspecttive) things to drive owners nuts! :smash:

Re: Front license plate?
And it's for that reason I won't be buying a C6 anytime soon. Not fond of putting holes in the front end just for a plate.
It's easy to say you won't put a front plate on but, if it's the law why would you want to keep paying fines? I'll stick with my designed in plated C5 thank you.

Re: Front license plate? (Shylor)
In Germany with cars like this they can get a reflective sticker "plate" for the front, so it fits the contour of the car and looks as good as possible.

Re: Front license plate? (Tombone)
Anyone with a modicum of ingenuity will be able to figure out how to use 3M doublesided tape instead of drilling holes. Anyone who can't figure out how to do that probably shouldn't be in control of a 3,000+ lb. vehicle moving at 50+ MPH.
That's assuming, of course, that holes even need to be drilled in the first place.
