Default 04 z06 mufflers on c6

i have a chance to buy a titanium 04 z06 catback exhaust at a very good price. would it be possible to use the mufflers on a 2006 c6. they have big outlets and might sound better than the stock mufflers.

My first response was NO but,, hell,, it might fit. I know you cant get C6 Mufflers to fit a C5. Hell,, give it a try. You can always EASILY resell the Ti mufflers!

Look at the C5 mufflers and check out your car and see what you would need to do th make them fit:

Here is the C6 layout. If you can get the C5 stuff to fit in a C6, you better start a new business.

Good luck!

I doubt they will fit but if you do get them to fit you will need to put some heat protection between the rear storage compartments and the mufflers. The C5s had sheet metal heat shields. You will also need to purchase the C5 muffler mounting bracket for each side of the car that bolt inside the rear frame crossmember. To get the bracket mounted in the frame drill two bolt holes in the bottom of the crossmember on each side of the car where the muffler will hang then cut a 2 inch hole in the front facing side of the crossmember and located between the 2 holes in the bottom of the frame. Once the holes are drilled you place the bracket through the hole and then use a tool to place the two bolts welded to the bracket through the bottom of the frame. Be careful when installing the rubber muffler holder to the bracket. You can shove it back in side the frame where it might be hard to retrieve (had this happen on my C5). Have fun. This is a picture of the bracket that goes inside the frame:
