What kind of gains can be had without a tune?? Id love to do a tune, but prefer to wait as long as possible to just tune it once all mods are completed and im in no rush as I just bought a GMPP for another 3 years.
But if I can get some substantial gains w/o a tune, the price is well worth 30HP!

I understand your situation. However, we don't recommend driving with this mod without a tune as it influences your fuel/air mixture. You might be better off waiting to do this closer to the time of your other mods.

In my humble opinion, mods that do not need a tune or re-tune probably don't do much. If it works it would be flowing more air and would need more fuel adjusted in

Since we don't do dyno tuning directly, we rely on our customers to let us know their results. On and LS3 radically ported with the ported LS3 throttle body, you can expect a gain of 15-19 rwhp.

Here is a quote from a customer that just had their LS3 intake radically ported along with their throttle body:
“Just wanted everyone to know that Bob did a fantastic job on my manifold and throttlebody. Not only was Bob great to work with, but my manifold arrived at Peakspeed damaged and Bob took great pains to contact me about it (I'm not easy to get a hold of) and repaired it for free. Both pieces came back looking great - just as advertised. The set up runs great and I can feel a difference in throttle response. I haven't really jumped on it yet as the weather up here has been lousy and I'm still on last years gas. I do plan to get down to TJ Wongs for a tune and will let you know how it turns out.”
Ken – Mercer Island, WA

I just received this message from an LS2 customer who had us radically port their Intake Manifold and port their throttle body (porting the LS2 IM generally gains about 3 or 4 horsepower more than porting the LS3 IM):
"I don't have any hard numbers for you as I did not dyno the vehicle either before or after the porting/tuning. Seat of the pants though, the throttle response is much improved, and I can definitely feel the power/torque increase. Traction is now a problem in 1st gear, and it still pulls really hard in 2nd. No fuel economy data yet, but I expect it to improve as well. Overall I am very happy with the porting/ tuning results! Great bang for the bucks spent. Thanks for the good work!"
Terry - Trabuco Canyon, CA

I hope this helps with your decision.

Bob and All,

I tried to get down to TJ Wong's this past Monday but he was pretty backed up. Too bad too as the weather was nice and he is about 3 hours away. As I mentioned, I'm kind of hard to get a hold of these days as I'm moving from the Seattle area to Charleston, SC.

The new plan is for the car to be tuned at TJ's place March 19th. Since TJ set up the tune I have now and we will be using the same dyno, I think the numbers we come up with should be as close to apples to apples as we can get.

I'll keep everyone posted as I can.

BTW,

The 19th is a Saturday which says loads about TJ Wong's operation if you ask me.

Thanks for the update. I look forward to hearing the good news after your tune.

Sounds good. I hope it doesn't take too long for you to pay Uncle Sam.
