Default Bridgestone Potenza RE-11

Anyone have experience with these tires on the street? Can I run a larger size than the stock sizes on my OEM wheels?

I had these in stock 285 size in the rear when my car made 580 whp..it was GREAT for a street tire. If you are making about 500 whp, I believe you'll pretty much hook any gear when the tires are warmed up. My tuner was impressed with the RE-11 also and has seen almost every street tires you can put on a Vette. I don't think you'll find a better street tire in 19" size.

These tires at the stock size are a blast!!!! I have an ECS LS3 build near 500 and on a 80+ degree day with the tires cold they would hold when you roll into it. Once warmed up they just stick...good feed back in the corners. I'm 3/4's through them and the last 50* day hardly warmed up slightly spun in 1st then hooked. They are still quiet and ride nice...they are worth a try.
Check out the P car forums as it was their reviews which led me to them.
If you are putting down some decent power watch how much you hammer them on long straight drives. Straight line runs and hard acceleration up mountain sides will eat into the center.
BTW-I've had these tires dead hook in the low 50's after they have warmed up. Waiting to see where they start to let go as the temps drop.

I have been running 265/305 combo on stock rims all summer. Best tire I have ever had. I purchased these primarily for HPDE days but liked them so much I never took them off.

This is a good setup! I hate picking out tires for customers but this setup works well for 95 percent of street guys!

And for the price...you can't go wrong unless your looking to get 20,000+ miles out of them. Then again you might get close if your a weekend cruiser with a light foot.

I am getting another set for next summer and try the 265/305 combo.

One of the best tires i've had the pleasure of experiencing and I would not put another tire on my car as long as I own it. Only regret is I wish I had switched to the re-11 sooner...

Running stock sizes fwiw. Biggest difference was at the track...the grip and gradual breakaway at the limit was excellent. Definitely a tire that gives you plenty of warning when you need it and tons of grip anywhere else.

Excellent grip, quick to warm up to max grip, reasonable life, maybe 10K miles of combined street plus autocross use.

What series did you guys go with on the front? 265/35/18 (93W) or 265/40/18 (101W)

The rears come in two different ratings, 102W and 98W. Any difference?

It appears the 98W is 3 lbs lighter. I'm guessing the 102W is more reinforced for reliability at speed?

Has anyone compared these to NT05's; which is what I have currently. I have herd the Bridgestone is quite a bit better, but wanted to see what the forum's thoughts are

And if I remember correctly, the NT05 was being compared to the RE050 which is only available in a 285 for our cars. The only possible benefit I see there is the tread wear rating of a 140, compared to the RE11's 180.

Default Re-11

The 265-40-18 is too tall, it will mess up your traction conrtol, I know from personal experience. I now run in comp. mode all the time.

I've got RE-11's on my 350Z and almost put them on my C6. In the end, I couldn't help sticking with run-flats and ended up going with Pilot Sport PS2 ZP's instead...

I know I'm comparing apples and oranges, but I still prefer the feel of the RE-11's over the Michelins. You can't go wrong with either set of tires, but if run-flats weren't a necessity, I'd buy the RE-11's again in a heartbeat...

They're rated W in these sizes. I think that will work for me unless I do a Texas Mile and add a few more mods.

I got up to ~150 on the front straight of my track when the car was stock. I don't think I'll hit 168 on the front straight now that I'm blown, but it's a bit close for my nerves. I really wanted to go with this tire from the reviews on P-Car forums, but that 168 rating scares me. Went with the RE050A which is decent but can't completely hold my car in 1st or 2nd when the boost really kicks in.

Still a great tire though!
