LS2 no timing chain demper or tensioner??
I just removed the plate of the front of the engine to see the chain and oil pump
But normal there has to be a tensioner or demper for the timing chain above the crankshaft gear? that needs to be mounted with 2 bolts?
Please help because i destroyed my camshaft and if the reason of it is that some guy forget to bolt on a tensioner or damper i am really pissed off!
Cheers Ray
(byt the way, it is a 2005 LS2 6.0 corvette engine)

I think that is a upgrade? because i just spoken to Livernois Motorsports and they said that from the factory there are no tensioners fitted from the factory

damper or tensioner
When I recently did heads and cam on my 06 LS2 (built October 2005) there was a damper inside the front cover, engine had never been apart till then, so my LS2 did in fact come from the factory with a damper.

Somebody screwed up, had the cam/lifter not failed, the chain would have and cost you more money. Who's the dink that used silicone to seal the water pump gaskets ?
Even stock motors have cam/lifter failures but not usually until about 50K miles or more.
This is an early 07 with the tensioner. Early LS1s didn't use anything and then they installed the damper. Early blocks can be retrofitted for either.
