Unfortunately as of now there is no way to put the 90 in a vette because of the extra length. I wish there was.

I've read the entire thread and am absolutely impressed with what you have accomplished. I have many questions so I may leave some out and bring them up once you respond so forgive me now. My car is a 06 A6 with a ECS SC600 kit, my trans is "flaring" up between the 2nd to 3rd shift, where it pegs the rev limiter. ECS confirmed that my trans is failing which really sucks because I just unloaded my money i budgeted for my trans while the car was at their shop recently. I am very interested in going with this route, but ECS also does in house A6s. When I read that RPM does not do the A6 I became quite skeptical until I stumbled upon this thread about even bothering building a A6 up.
My main question is, if you know what are the differences between the Century build and what ECS does in house? Is my trans "flaring" up a tuning issue, or a sign that my trans is failing? I know without tuning the trans at the track it can be difficult to get the shift mph/rev limiter where it needs to be for the mods.
I also am curious what the benefits over keeping the A6 over a RPM 4 speed would be?
My main goal is to have a reliable car, mainly play around on the street, mainly drive the car around to work etc, but be able to last via street play and the occasional track runs. The car is not a daily driver, but I do take it on long trips (ECS being one instance).
I am also curious on the cost if I were to purchase the parts for ECS to do this in house, or the cost if I ship the trans to Century myself. I need to look at my options here in case my trans is almost done. Also, what is the warranty on the parts if purchased and shipped to me, and the warranty if I have Century build my trans in house?
What stall converter would you recommend on the stock gears? I want something that will behave on the street.
And lastly, I have the Z51 package, do you think the oil cooler will be fine for me? Or should I upgrade?
On a side note, you said your motor almost went up. What was wrong? And is your car still on a stock bottom end? I am also curious what all is done to your car to last through so many runs. Feel free to PM me please if you do not want some of this information public.
Thank you,
Steve

You might just need a tune adjustment on your A6. I'm not sure what you mean by "flairing" but after my A&A installation, my tranny wasn't shifting properly and was allowing the motor to hit the rev limiter on both the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. I took it back to my engine tuner and he lowered the shift point RPM but that didn't help any. Then I contacted subfloor here on the forum and he told me to meet him at one of the local strips. He put a data logger on my car on one run and after that run he lowered the "MPH" points on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. He said that lowering the RPM without lowering the MPH tables won't let it shift earlier. Anyway, it's shifting fine in Drive now without hitting the limiter. I still have a problem in Sport mode though where it's shifting lazy or slow (or maybe flairing) so will have him adjust the Sport mode 2-3 shift when I meet up with him again. The tune may have too much TM set for 2-3 shift in Sport mode. It's not a big deal as he took most of the Torque Management out of the shifts for Drive mode and the shifts are very crisp in that mode.
Bottom line is that your tranny may not be going bad on you and it just may need to be tuned by a competent tuner. Good luck.

yes please updates--- my A6 is doing the same thing on the streets while driving, the 2-3 shift. very impressive read. I have changed my clutch packs several times and even modded the trans. This would be a good way to start off the new season for 2012.

Update
I believe he has just over 320 passes on the same trans from last September and 15K street miles. I just posted some pricing and additional info in this other thread:

When you changed your clutch packs how long did your trans hold? And under what kind of power? Thanks

Who did your tuning? A stock 6L80E will hold up to abuse pretty well below a certain power level so unless you're making an insane amount of HP the tune might be what's causing your repeated failures.
