Default NICE!!! Aftermarket Wheels that fit??? C6

Hey guys I need some help.

Im looking for new wheels for my 06' C6 and Im not sure whats the largest size I can get away with (wheels and tire) without rubbing/ clearance issues in the front and rear. I have the Z51 suspension kit. Im not sure if that will make a difference.

Im looking for performance and looks of course. The ones Ive been loking at are: HRE, BBS, and Work Racing wheels. 19' or Im also considering 20"???

What have you guys out there installed on your vetts (wheel and tire size) any issues/ regrets and/ or mods that you had to do to make it work.

If you have any pics or links would be great!

Thanks for your help in advance...

Here is what I have, I am running 275/35/18 with a +64 Offset on the front and 325/30/19 with a +79 on the rear. I have no rubbing or issues of sticking out. I am including a link in here to my photos. The tires are NITO INVO's I got rid of the runflats. With these offsets I went 1 inch wider on the wheels from the O. E. size.

I also went to CCW (complete custom wheels and ordered my track wheels from them they are the C14's annodized black.

When I went to the larger wheels and tires I also added the Z06 swaybars for added handeling you may not need to since you have the Z51 package (I didn't)

The wheels came from House of Wheels a forum supporting vendor.

Swaybars from Gene Culley forum supporting vendor.

i have said a number of times that with all the mods i have made changing the wheels was the most difficult and the biggest pain in the neck. i went thru 3 sets of wheels before getting the car "right" again. the first 2 sets of wheels led to all sorts of vibrations, wobbles and frustration. i finally bought a set of cray wheels and found what i was looking for. for me a good look, a reasonable price and most important a great ride! i believe the rear wheels are 1 in. wider (fronts are stock width). i changed to ps2's stock sizes but they look bigger because of the offset that the cray wheels have. sorry i can not quote all the offset numbers and such. maybe this pic will help.

Have I got a deal for you. I'm selling my Ace Slicks, which allow Z06 brakes with no spacers should you decide to do that later, with good rubber on them.

Check it out. I love the Ace Slicks, they fill out the wheel wells PERFECTLY and never rub. Stock wheels look so small by comparison the way the set the wheels back in the fenders.

Here's how they look in the car. They fit perfectly at edge of the wheel well and never rubbed.

Here's the for sale thread.

Rims are in great shape, 18x9.5, 19x11. They fit stock size tires or upsize tires. The Kuhmos are stock size, 245/40/18 & 285/35/19 and have 17,032 miles on them. The have plenty of life left as per the pictures. I also purchased Corvette decals for the center caps so they look factory.

The beauty of these rims are they fit the c6Z06 brakes with no spacers.

The wheels also place the tires close to the edge of the wheel well, filling the wheel wells nicely, but not sticking out.

The reason I'm selling is I went with the Grand Sport kit wide body fenders on my car and so I'm now running 295/345 tires.

These are a nice set of rims, no blemishes or road rash that I can see, and a great set of tires with no plugs or patches and plenty of life left. Tires were just mounted and balanced with standard valve stems (I used my sensors in my car).

Price is $1200 + shipping for these. Shipping will be from 33027.

The problem with most after market wheels is the offset is wrong for the C6. Most are designed for the Camaro or C5. The other problems are excessive weight and or rivets/bolts that are impossible to clean.

I had a set of OEM 5 spoke wheels widened at WeldCraft; 1.5" in front and 2" in back. I used Michelin PS2 tires, 275/35-18 front and 305/30-19 rear. This combination fits up inside the wheel well and does not rub or upset the active handling system. I also tried a set of 315/30-19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and they were awesome, but I think they have been discontinued. Forum member Gotcha used 325/30-19 rears, but did some wheel well work.

This is NOT my car.... but it does show the wheels I have.
They are LG Motorsports World Challenge Wheels.
9.5x18 front, 11x19 rear.
I have Toyo R888 tires mounted....
265x35x18 front and 305x30x19 rear

They do not stick out past the fender lips at all.
And I have Z51 suspension, plus LG GT2 Coil-overs.

No issues at all with CCW: they are made to order and are a quarantee fit! There are 19"/20" with Hankook V12s; which were shipped in about a week.

This is awesome that you can run Z06 size rubber without the changing the fenders. A BIG plus for CCWs for sure. The pics don't look like C14s though. They look like Z06 replicas.

Cool wheels, but do you mind having smaller tires than stock on your car? According to a tire size calculator you're roughly .4" diameter smaller in front and .7" diameter smaller in the rear. Are their any adverse effects from running the smaller tires?

Roughly the same size tires I ran on my C6. UP to 130 mph the car didn't seem to care. I never ran it any faster than that with Active Handling on so I couldn't tell you if it is going to get upset past that or not.

Yes it is different than stock but it did work.

Thanks for the feedback Anthony. Is it possible to fit 325/30-19 on the back of the C6 with your 19x11's without the tire tread sticking outside the fender edge? The 325 would get you pretty close to the stock diameter.

What Anthony said.....

No problems at all with this MINOR change in diameter.

Note: I understand that as long as the DIFFERENTIAL between the fronts and the rears stays within the "programmed" tolerance, there will be no affect on the computer.

I typically don't suggest it. Depends on the tolerance and how they aligned the car, as well as the fender alignment with everything else. It's shaving hairs to get a 325 to fit, and even then sometimes they rub or bump the inside of the fender.

Not my ideal setup. Given a little more camber (what it should have to begin with anyway) it will be right at it, or just slightly past. It's an aggressive fit at any rate.

Thanks guys for the good feedback...

I spent a long time looking at wheels and Im thinking about going with

Work Wheels (3 piece Mesh style wheels).

19x8.5 front (265/35/19) and 20x12 rear (325/20/20).

Michelin PS2 tires.

Do you guys think I will have issues:
* rubbing in the front or rear?
* Stick out past the fender lips?
* Computer programing issues?
* Others?

Thanks for the heads up
