Towing with a C6
I was wondering who has any thoughts on Towing with a Vette. I want to buy a small enclosed utility/camper. Made for small cars etc. It will weigh between 600-1200lbs or so. I know there are tow hitch's made that will fit the 06 C6 but is it okay for the suspension and ground clearance?. Is the car okay for handleing this. I want to bring things with me and drive my Vette not my truck.

Save yourself a few bucks. $202 and $1 shipping.

I've got one, fine product.
And I see NOTHING wrong with towing a trailer with a Vette. How else are you going to get your race tires to the track!

Towing a light trailer is no problem. I even towed my 2300# boat to a local meet just to prove it could be done. The boat trailer had a tongue weight of around 125#'s, barely dropped the bumper when I hooked it up.
First thru fourth gears the trailer is barely noticeable, fifth and sixth were worthless at the 55 and 60 MPH speed limits. Forget backing up, no vision of the trailer at all.

I had a custom 4'-0" x 6'-0" enclosed trailer made, with a 3500 lb. trailer axle, and 14" wheels. Had it painted the same color of the car.
I have a C-5 Z06 and with my race tires, tools, EZ Up, ice chest, jack and spare parts it tows just fine. People do look at you funny when you pass them going up a grade!
We took it to the NCCC convention in Colorado Springs from Southern California and I averaged 24 MPG with the trailer!
A friend has a C-6 with the small Wells Cargo trailer that is enclosed and it tows great also.
Don't go any shorter than 6'-0" backing up can be problem since even at 6'-0" it's hard to keep it straight even though you can see fine out the side mirrors. The good news is that they are so light it's easy to unhitch it and swing it around. Oh by the way mine tows fine at 100 MPH.

Obviously, the Corvette was not made for towing and GM specifically advises against it. That said, a friend of mine used to tow a very small trailer with his track tires and tools to the track. I don't know that I'd tow with my C6 but my friend didn't seem to have any problems. If you have to tow with the C6 I'd make sure it's a 'toy' trailer.
