Yesterday it was even cold in Florida and i tried to use the heated seats in my 08 Z06. the red light came on but turned off after a second. no chance to switch to low heat or to keep it on. i tried the pax side and this side worked. any clue?

thanx

Sounds like the wires that attach the heating element to the system is broken. Just replaced the drivers side in my wife's car.

Mine did the same identical thing last winter..The red light would come on then go right back off..I pulled the seat up to find one of the wires was pulled out of the plug, i had to reattach the wire and also replace the fuse because it caused it to blow..Then it was good to go..Hope that helps...

Still under warranty, id take it in. Why try to figure it out on your own?

Because most dealers suck and it's such an easy issue to look into on your own. It's faster than driving it to the dealership as well.

Just a thought. I don`t know if the heated seats are tied into the hot air system or not. Try turning up the heat for the entire car and see if the heated seats stay on.

Check the passenger seat first. If it works it's a good bet the problem is under the drivers seat only.

I'll second that....

Pull the seat and check the wires/connectors. Takes only a few minutes to get the seat out. The connector and wires under the seat get pinched due to the tight space there. Pretty straight forward.
