Default Differential casing vent

I was getting the rear end chatter and decided to try some Amsoil Slip Lock additive. When I was removing the fill plug I heard a sound like pressure escaping. Is there a vent line on the differential or is this a normal sound to hear. Car had not been driven far when I removed the plug. Thanks for any suggestions and if anyone has a photo much appreciated.

The vent is on the top, left side is round and looks about the size of a nickle.
