Default Need recommendations for best pad - Z51, desire good bite, low dust, NO NOISE

HI,

I've been reading through the forum and noticed that there is no clear winner when it comes to replacing the pads on the Z-51. I want pads that have good overall bite (I don't track the car, but do run it hard on the street/highway at times), low and non-corrosive dust (for chrome rims), and NO NOISE. The noise on my stock pads is absolutely embarrassing for such a nice sports car.

The pads I'm currently considering are:

GM ceramics
Hawk ceramics
Carbotech Bobcats

Please weigh in so I can order based on ya'lls experiences.

Not going to happen, noise& dust go with excellent stopping power.
the noise is caused by the pad vibrating because you don't clamp it as hard..........because it will stop too quick.
The ceramic don't dust however if you really need to use them hard. they will fade and do not grab as hard either.
provided you don't track or drive it hard the cermaic pads are best for looking good.

I had just upgraded to Z06 brakes and after one day I hated all the dust!!! It made my new rims look as though I emptied the vacuum bag all over the rims. I have been using the Bobcats and they seems as good as the stock padletts in stopping power. 100% better in dust control and from time to time I hear a little squeek. However nothing to be embarrassed about. I am very satisfied with my brake pad choice

I'd like to know everyone's opinion as well. The noise from my stock Z51 pads is extremely annoying.

Hawk HPS

("S" is for "Street")

Bite good for the street, little to no dusting, NO noise.

I've got Hawk ceramic Z06 pads and will soon change to Carbotech. Fot your application I would say GM is the best price compared to Carbotech and of course I am not a fan of Hawk.

Parts store brand ceramics.

No dust, cheap, will activate the anti-locks if you press them hard enough so they work fine.

You can get 3 sets of those for what you'll pay some of the others in your poll and your performance will be just the same. Voice of experience speaking here.

My Z51 had the factory pads and they squealed at low speeds and made alot of dust. Since I don't track the car, I put GM ceramics on all 4 that I bought from Gene Culley (supporting vendor) and so far they are low dust, no noise at all, and stop excellent for normal driving and some quick stops from 80 mph. (haven't had a chance to try them faster yet)... These are the only two types of pads I have had so I can only give an opinion on these.

Hawk's throw off a crap ton of brake dust trust me im sure they make other brands that are less messy. I think honestly the brake pads on my z51 have less dust then my last pair of hawk HPS
