fluid
The owner's manual may say to use DOT-3 for the brakes and DOT-4 for the clutch but the recommended replacement fluid GM #88958860 is labeled "Brake and Clutch Fluid Super DOT-4." If they really want DOT-3 for the brakes you think they'd recommend and list a DOT-3 fluid.
I use Motul 600. Not all auto parts stores carry Motul but if you call around you'll likely find it. To purge the DOT 3 fluid which I assume you 'circulated' through the system many times, you'll need to drain, circulate and re-fill the fluid (with DOT 4) multiple times. I'd repeat the cycle a dozen times or more. For normal street driving I'd also recommend Prestone DOT-4.
