Default gas cap c6 zo6 problems

anyone had problems with gas cap not turning shut or gas pressure control selenoid staying open which results in gas smell?

The top of my gas cap just turns.....I needa new gas cap....now the question is: the gas cap is covered by the warranty?

I thought the 7.0 first came out in '06 in the ZO6.

Federal emissions warranty is for 80,000 miles.

That's funny...you noticed that too?

I got a check gas cap warning years ago and I followed another forum members suggestion...he said to screw the gas cap on 'loosely.' You don't screw the cap down tight like you do in other cars. I followed his advice and I've never had another check gas cap warning.

If that doesn't work I would have the dealer check it out. I vaguely recall another potential venting issue that can occur as well.

Verily funny in that it is an actual fact. I met a gentleman at Road America this year that happened to own a black convertible, five made; 2 convertibles and 3 coupes, all black. It apparently was an early well kept pilot program engaged toward the development of the current Z06.

Wasn’t certain whether he was truthful so I decided to check the vin, the “E” was duly noted in sequence. Interesting what GM promotes covertly under our noses.
