Default Soft Clutch Pedal

Hello all,

I have a 2008 C6 that I bought new in May 2008. The car has 1280 miles on it at present and it has a manual 6 speed transmission.

Recently, the clutch pedal seems too easy. It engages correctly and there is no grinding when shifting gears. I checked to see if the clutch return spring might have fallen off, but there is nothing dangling near the clutch pedal and I do see a shiny V-shaped spring under there that is attached on both ends.

I don't have any way to compare my car with another since I have never driven another 2008 C6, other than my own car. As a result, I don't know if this is normal or not. However, I do know that it seems to me to be "softer" than it was when new and I think about it everytime I drive the car.

Any thoughts from forum members would be greatly appreciated before I go to the dealer with this issue.

Thanks in advance for your help

Patton's got it right, but just before you do that look at your clutch reservoir. Is it full?

you know about the clutch pedal spring in the C6's is way stiffer than in the C5's. the C5 spring is something like $5 and makes the pedal "feel" like a clutch pedal.

there several threads on this topic
