I'm not surprised but I think I should get an honorable mention since I was the guy that talked him into a cam in the first place. Someone ask Ed if he regrets any part of it.
Congrats to ECS on the design and build especially on the 'FI' trap speed which is solidly in the '3.90' camp. Now imagine what a good set of 4.10's and a higher rev limiter would have done!! Yes, I'm kidding.
Way to go guys.
One tech mention since Brian@TEA heads were already mentioned: I have a friend that picked up 17rwhp/23rwtq with no L92 porting and just the compression bump and his competition valve job on the box stock heads. They are worth a look.
OK now Chris and Doug, when your done playing dont you have a shipment to send out to a Colorado man with a noise bleed??
Please allow me to correct one minor detail. When Ed sat in my car and felt the side to side shake, he blew a load in his pants. My car talked Ed into getting a cam Great driving Doug, great build ECS. (whats up tommy)

Thanks guys,
The car ran great all day, and for my first time at Cecil county drag way, I think it was a success.
I really have to tip my hat to the guys at GM, we are in the age of real performance right now with power and driveability combo's that has never been available IMO until the LSx engines came around. I have been in the performance game since the 80's, and to have a 10 second car then meant that it was barely drivable on the street, and now we can do it with a cam, clutch, gears, CAI and headers. Simply amazing!
Ed's car has an aggressive cam no doubt, but even with that the car is very street able, doesn't stall etc etc. I think even if we used a much tamer cam we still could have squeaked into the tens which is pretty cool to say the least.
It is nice to have a car run tens for under 10k in mods, and not be all "raced out". Ed's car has had a total of around 10 passes in it's life down the track. I think we took about 5 with the cam, and I took around 5 on Friday with the heads and cam combo. I think if it was my own car I could get it to a 10.4x honestly, I was using crappy 275 drag radials on 97-98 wagon wheels which only let me launch at 3800 rpm, and best 60' of 1.58. A drag pack would let me launch at the 5-6k I should leave at to get a mid to low 1.4, and the skinnies would take some of the weight away that the stock front tires were adding. Plus I did not want to put a free trans in his car so no power shifting. Between the two I'm confident there is another tenth or two left on the table, but hey that's racing.
Spin, give a call to the shop Monday and ask for me, I would like to see you jump straight into the NOVI 2200 since you are at such a high altitude, plus I'll bet you will become a boost junkie the first day you have it and that way you don't have to upgrade later.

Search for Rangers video's of him launching, there is a technique, or way of leaving the line that not only drops the 60' times, but keeps the car happy at the same time. I don't know exactly how to articulate it on line other than slipping the clutch is your friend! Of course you have to have a clutch that can handle that though.

Well actually, the fastest 'non Z06' C6 is a supercharged LS2 car that ran a couple of 9.9s back in 2006 (even that record is about to fall though), it's on the above stickied lists as well.
And there are two other C6s that are also quicker than Ed's 10.66 (one nitrous and one blower car both having run 10.2s) but again Ed's is the quickest NA car.
And even though the fastest NA C6was once a cam only car, the 10.66 pass in question here was done by a now heads and cam car...which also happens to be the very same 'previously cam only' car.

Hey Marc, that is 100% correct. This was done with a ported stock head so now its a head and cam car.

Congrats ECS, and Doug on the driving. How did you mannage to do it with that bogus "wheels" off dyno that reads too high? Once again that theory is blown away.
