Default LS3 Cam Install with LS7 Exhaust and Bolt-ons. (Pics and Dyno)

I Finally got everything installed and took my car back to Modern Day Muscle Cars (Decatur IN) for some tuning and dyno pulls. I did some base pulls back in December, right before I put it away for winter and tubbed it.

The base pulls were done at about 1700 miles with a Callaway CAI and 160 stat installed. It put down 372 rwhp 370 rwtq We did 13 pulls, getting the LS3 programming figured out, and wound up with 382 rwhp 379 tq with tuning.

This week, I took the car back with the following mods installed (2700 miles):
Custom Comp Cam, spec'd with help from Pat G 218/230 .563/.573 on 115lsa +0, Comp XE lobes
PAC springs, comp titanium retainers, comp 7.425 pushrods
Cometic .040 head gaskets for 11:1 static compression
LS7 Exhaust Manifolds with Cat Pipes
Dr Gas 3" X-pipe
ATI 10% underdrive pulley
Yella Terra roller rockers

We only had about 30 minutes to use the dyno, so only two pulls were made . On the 2nd pull the car put down 450.7 rwhp and 421.7 rwtq. We had to get off the dyno and finished tuning the car on the street. We made good progress but didn't get a chance for any more dyno time. I'm pretty sure the car will put down some slightly better numbers now

I got some Abear Valve Covers, Aeromotive Fuel Rails and a Katech belt tensioner to spruce it up a little

I went from this:

To this:

To this: (note LS7 exhaust manifolds ceramic coated in black)

To get Here

And here's the dynojet :

Very nice Trying to figure out what to do with mine. Supercharge, Forged LS2,Hot LS3 swap
those are really cool valve covers. Wonder what headers would have brought to the table?

Any reason they ran the fuel line to the passenger side? I've got a set of FAST rails coming and was just wondering.

Where did you get the valve covers and fuel rails? Looks awesome.
Nice dyno numbers. The car must fly.

I did all the install and drove it to MDMC for the tune and dyno

I fed the rails on the passenger side for a couple reasons. The drivers side fuel rail is really close (~1.5") to the firewall. This would require a fitting with a sharp 90 degree bend and a direct ORB fitting into the rail, these are available but on backorder. Even with that fitting I would have problems getting a straight shot to it because the valve covers are tall and block the path to the back of the drivers side rail.

Lastly, I considered firewall clearance to the fuel system. There's way more room on the passenger side. My thoughts were if the car was in a front end collision and the motor got shoved back I would want to avoid any of the fuel system hitting the firewall or going thru it

The fuel rails are Aeromotive, they had LS3 rails advertised on their site and I ordered them thru Summit. Aeromotive thought the LS7 rails would work because the LS3 injectors are the same as the LS7. However, the mounting points on the intake manifold are different.

I sent Aeromotive some pictures showing them the differences and they borrowed an 08 LS3 Vette and designed a new fuel rail set. Basically it's the LS7 rail with LS2 mounting points. They should be available in about 6 weeks. They're going to send me a set for free

Here you can see where the LS7 rail was radiused for the intake bolts...in the wrong location. No reliefs were needed for my intake so I left them as is.

Here's the brackets I made to make the LS7 rails work with the tapped holes in the bottom of the rails.

Here's the rails mounted to the intake.

Thanks, I got the valve covers from Abear (forum sponser), they were great to deal with.

Here's a pic to show how the coils are mounted under the top cover.

The plug wires are MTI Racing

Abear said they don't carry Corvette parts any longer.
Wonder who else might have these valve covers.
Your engine looks great.

Say what? Nah, we're still cutting Corvette stuff. Don't plan on stopping anytime soon either. We have expanded to making fuel rails and some other custom stuff though.

NICE MOTOR!!

Nice power boost, and great looks! I may have to splurge for the valve covers and fuel rails when I undertake my Head & Cam project next spring.

if possible can you show a picture of the exhaust from the bottom...seems you really can make some HP without reverting to headers
