The Vararam.

Why? Because it delivers more forward motion (aka: it's faster).

Vararam delivers real results.

Option c - Callaway Honker... They have some science to back up their intake - look on the website.

Also, less theoretic risk of H2O intake as Honker is higher than the Vararam.

The Halltech and Honker are better made than the Vararam IMHO, but the Halltech is not an outside air breather like the other two. Colder air = more HP.

How much is the Halltech when you add the Beehive and Vette Air?

Go with the Vararam

Don't need the Vette Air, just cut two slots at the bottom of the shroud to get cold ram air into the Halltech filter. It's an easy install.
I have seen them both advertising for $499.00.

It depends on what you are looking for. You can't go wrong with either one.

Better work on it a little harder

Mike makes a good point. Most of the serious builds have a true CAI. Be it Vararam, Honker, or LPE. Since you only give two opitons, I'd go with the VR. I can't comment on the Haltech's new Beehive but I have been running the VR for almost 2 years in northern NJ as well, with 0 issues. I was even driving in last year's Carlisle tornado.

I was checking out the Vararam intake and I'm just itching to get one. In the description, I noticed that it says that it requires "no programming changes." I would assume that to be true? Regardless, the only other mod i've done to my 05 A4 is B&B Bullets. If I were to now throw on an intake would it be benficial to get a professional tune? Does it help to get a professional tune regardless of what you do to the car?

Yes, it is true. It might take a few miles (200 or so?) for the car to fully 'learn in' it's newfound 'breathing capabilities' though so give it a few miles.

Yes, while not necessarily required when installing only a Vararam (or even some other minor bolt ons), it is still always best to get a professional dyno tune from an established, well respected tuner shop such as Cartek Racing and the like.

I think for most people it will always come down to if you want to cut the shroud or not.

I have vararam my car and feel it really works for RR application. I have driven at Watkins Glen in pouring rain at track speeds with no problems so I dont think the rain is an issue.

I think the Honker is also a good choice so I guess it depends on what work you want to do with the install as others have said...

that is great "Sorry if I am coming off Cocky" if you read it to yourself and it sounds cocky guess what

not sure if Vararam "smokes" honker. According to Callaway "simply bolting a Honker into a stock C6 coupe dropped its 1/4-mile ET by three full tenths".

BTW - nice list - C6DVL said he was upset that his RECORD CAM ONLY time was not added to the list since he has a vararam too - just one question though how did you qualify in the 10s/low 11 category
