I believe that ever since it was revised so that you don't have to remember to park in Reverse with the manual transmission to power down the electronics, there's no problem. Other people with dead batteries are often those that don't daily drive their cars and keep the charge up.

Yes.
There is a dealer installed software reflash of the BCM (body control module) to ignore certain shut down anomalies with '05's. Now DBS only occurs in those cars that haven't been reflashed.

This might not be the latest:

The DBS bug is officially squashed! If your '05 MN6 battery is still SUDDENLY dying in 24-28 hrs, without an explanation, you either need that reflash or maybe by now a new battery. Now there was one other bug in the door controller causing dead batteries, but not so suddenly:

Lowjack, and other aftermarket add ons can do wonders to the battery too!

I had the GM reflash done last year. I have not had the dead battery problem, but most tuners require the lasted GM flash update.

My '05 built in January '05 has never had DBS and no reflash that I'm aware of. My car sits for two weeks at a time with no issues ever.

If memory serves me right we had about 1/3 here on the forum reporting DBS with '05 MN6. So the majority may never have a problem.
