Default New Best 1/8

just got back from irwindale raceway in my 08 a6. Last week i had charlie at rpm motors install a cold air intake and tune. Bolted on my drag radials and ran a new best 1.86 60ft 7.77@93.61. My previous best was 7.91@92 with much better conditions.

That's a strong improvement, especially considering the race conditions weren't as nice, your future times will likely still improve some more as well.

Great Pass. If you hit a 1/4 track, that has to be an 11 second car.

Have you run at any other track in SoCal? Irwindale is the best I was told. Never got the chance to run there though. Very good times btw.

You beat me to it, I was thinking the same thing. You've got yourself an 11 second car right there. Easy 11.7-11.9

On a 7.85 sixty foot with the exact same 1.86 sixty foot I was able go a 12.07 (also an A6 with a CAI and tune)....a 7.77 in the 1/8th is more than enough for an 11.9 and maybe even a high 11.8x.

Iam sure I will get flamed for this, but 1/8 mile track??? agghhhhh
Basically its a measure of how good your traction is right>?
Regardless great times ,no trying to flame...
BTW if you ever wanna do some friendly rolls hit me up..Iam close to you..

I've ran similar times at barona raceway in san diego. I agree that the 1/8 miles sucks, But no 1/4 tracks are open in so cal yet. In a couple of weeks i will be hitting the 1/4 when fontana and famoso open. I cant wait for the 1/4. But for now the 1/8 gives me good practice for reaction times, traction, and launch technique.

You would probably run a 7.5 or 7.45. Thats a great mph. What do you have done to the car?

I could only leave the line@1000rpms anything more I would just spin. The car has a Vortech Supercharger with a generic predator tune. I really want to go see Charlie and get a good tune and some LG's

Charlie just did a cold air and tune on mine last week. It made a big differnce. I kept hitting the rev limiter because my drag radials are 3/4 inch shorter. You need better tires. next time i go i might run my street tires. You should make a pass on my mickey thompsons.

What RPM's were you launching at? I watch one of your
runs and seen you were really moving and for a mostly stock car wow.
When are you planning to go again?
