My fishing habit has been interfering with my racing habit!, so havent raced since January.

Ran a 11.79@118 last night in +2300 Ft DA. It was 85 degrees with about 85% humidity. I was very surprised to run that.

In January,the car went 11.73, but I didnt post it because I lost the time slip. Im pretty sure this winter it will run 11.5.

I had the 2nd fastest time of anyone on Drag Radials in the event I participated in last night. (got a trophy)..

Ive got to get back to racing soon, some of you are moving up on me on the list!!

Hey Daren,

Why can't you do both

......... fishing when it is warmer & drag racing when its cooler. Going fishing up her when it is cold is absoutely no fun ...even on a party boat.

That is pretty much the routine for me...i dont fish much in the winter, and I dont race much in the summer. There just happened to be an event with some people I hadnt seen in a long time, so I decided to go...but my fat azz was sweating too much yesterday. Probably wont go to the track again until october or november when we get back in the 50's and 60's here. We wont see anything under 75 here until then. (at least at the time the tracks are open...at 6am here it was 68...)

Feb and march I was in Austin working ,so that cut into my racing time this year....

You will see me move up the list this winter...count on it.!

To all you guys running in the low 11s - Do track officials give you a hard time about not having a roll cage? I dont want to get kicked off after my first pass

It really depends on the track and how strict they are. I was allowed to run as fast as 11.2xx at Sacramento without a cage but got tossed for running 11.475 at Infineon.

What you may want to do is figure out what the 1000' time of an 11.5 second pass is and then let up at that same mark for a few of your passes to compare the two. That should give you a good idea whether you're in danger of running under without getting the boot right away.

Mine went 11.75 @ 115.23 with Marc driving with a converter vs your gears & tune. You recorded a migher MPH so I have no doubt you car will go faster......Good luck Daren

(Btw my best was 11.83 so we konw the driver mod works

Yes, they do actually. Often times we will get only one pass and then get "the warning".

A roll bar is really becoming the only way to regularly and consistently run under 11.50 at most tracks.

If you run just under 11.s they usually don't complain much, but If they catch you running 11.0-11.3 they'll warn you the first time, after that they won't let you run until you install a cage. I went under 11.0 and they refused to give me a printed timeslip, instead they gave me a timeslip with no name of the track or any info to verify my run.

No, that by itself is not NHRA legal.
It might help in convincing some track officials to let you run again if you're just under the limit (11.50) but it's still not quite enough unforunately.

I have 2006 A6 with a Yank 3600ss and 2.56 gears.

Other modifications include: TFS 225's, G5X3, Fast92, LG headers, Underdrive pulley, and a Vararam

This was my first pass of the year with this combo...still have tuning left to do. Ran on 18" M/T's at 24lbs. Spun a little through first.

Pass was made at Great Lakes Dragaway, WI June 3, 2009

And not a bad start at all as the car went 10.859@127.318 with a 1.53 60ft.

Although this isn’t much faster than Ron’s (RGSTOY) previous best time of 10.863 with his LS2, that was made back in December with a -797ft DA compared to 493 last night. Also, they don’t prep the track with VHT on Wednesday nights in Sacramento so I was really surprised that the car hooked as well as it did. I figure that with a little more tuning and a prepped track I should be able to run a DA corrected 10.644 that I got with my setup back in February.

The current mods to the car are as follows:
