Bolt on 08 LS3 runs 11.83 @ 119.94 MPH!! **Video**
Ya, I know it's not a Z06 time, but let me say that it was in the 80s, bad smokey California air, and 1200 feet above sea level. The C6 does weight a bit more then the Z06, so when you take the conditions into account for the day, I think it would have been close anyway.
There was a bone stock 08 Z51 C6 there today, and he was running 13 flat at 110 all day with the exception of one run at 12.9 at 111.
My times put me a full second and 10 mph ahead of the stock 08 on the same day with an experienced driver.
Enough of the excuses, I really did have a blast with this car today!!!
I ran a bunch of 11.9s, all in the 119.5 plus range. The car ran VERY consistant all day! This was my first time to drags in over a year, and the first time with this car. With a bit more practice and some better air and temps, I'm sure I could get her down another tenth or two!!!
I ran on stock runflats, and managed to pull a 1.86 60 ft on the best run. This car has Dynotech 1 & 7/8s headers, VaraRam Snake Charmer, and a Borla touring exhaust. It is tuned with a 91/torco mix, putting me right around 95 octane. We made 448 RWHP hot, and then let it cool for a bit, and made 455 RWHP pull.
I want to thank Charlie of RPM for putiing a nice safe tune on the car!!!
Here's the video of a few of my runs, including the 11.83 with a slip!!

ps A big thanks to Jake who was kind enough to man the video camera on such short notice..Thank you very much

Nice times!
Yeah Sac is really the best track for ETs/traps in CA.
Are you tapping - to stay in 3rd longer?

I am the experienced driver of the stock 08 that missed the shift on the video. I wish I could put on a better show, but Joel's car is definetly much quicker than mine (+ Joel being a better driver). In anycase, I would of still lost by a large margin. Like Joel, this is also my first time running a C6.
My setup (Stock):
1. Rear tire pressure at 28 PSI. Yes, the tires are OEM.
2. 15 lbs worth of daily driver crap.
3. A Bible.
4. 16 gallons worth of gas ~93 octane (I put in 4 gallons worth of 100 a day before).
5. I weigh 175 lbs.
My best time for the day (I was running 13 flat ~ 110/111 most of the day):

I'm #13. The other car #1504 is toptoneone's 2007 Z51 (Intake, Exhaust, Headers, Street Tune, MT Drag Radials). He is also running ~93 Octane and close to a full tank of gas. Yes, I lost to a car with some nice tires (and I fell asleep at the line again).
For my controversial run (obviously an error):

As for California Speedway, the launch pad preping was actually very good hence alot of people got some nice 60fts. Unfortunately, I couldn't break out of the 2.1s all day long. The air desinty for CSW today was probably roughly 3,000 feet (2,500 feet to be conservative). The actual elevation of the track is ~1,200 feet CSW tends to run DA's around 3000 - 6000 feet, but today wasn't too bad as the day was mostly 85 degrees with alot of ash due to the recent California firestorm (Yes, it's still burning around us).
Per MB boards, the DA numbers: 2800 - 3100 Feet

I would be curious to see some stock Z06 times from that same track just to compair.
Nice runs.
Running the NHRA elevation correction factor at a sea level track with the same temp and crappy air: Not sure how accurate this correction factor is but still something to think about.
11.83 = 11.68
119.94 = 121.48
So for your mods I would say your car is running very strong.

JB, please describe you launching technique. You are able to avoid the nasty wheel hop I always hear about. It seems you progressively feed in the clutch as apposed to a quick engagement. What rpm do you launch at? Tire pressures, etc. BTW, amazing times

what he means by tapping is that you start your run in "s" then ,after you go into 3rd automatically, you tap the paddle shift to remain in 3rd, rather than shift at the back half of the track. I don't know about his car, but mine has never shifted out of 3rd on the track in "s" mode,no paddles.I pass through the 1320 @ about 54-5600 rpm @121+ WOT, so that means I still have a few hundred RPM to go before the car self shifts at WOT. I have no idea how high you must be taching in 3rd if you have to tap the paddles to stay in 3rd for the 1/4. Granted , this is only in the case of an A6 car.
