trannies:

base - MN6
Z51 - MZ6
Z06 - M12

Trannies are different. Z51 tranny is geared lower than either the Z06 or the base model. I haven't read anywhere nor would figure that they would drop the MZ6. It's great for pulling out of corners.

They have superseded all clutches to the Z06 rating. No need to carry multi. part numbers. They started this in 07. when they upgraded the rear ends in all C6's to Z06 standards. The increase in cost was mininal.

Someone posted the slide that all 08 models use the same transmission. Not sure about the clutch, but I would assume so.

The only thing I know is that it has the same problems as the older C6's. My co-worker has 700 miles on his 2008 Z51 and while on his way home from work Sunday, the clutch went to the floor and didn't come up until he pulled it up with his foot so he could get home. Taking it to the shop today.

me wonders if this an 'air in the line/system' issue. any idea if they bleed or burb the system at the factory after they fill it?

the slave and master are prefilled from suppliers(this is not fact, but I would assume on all the parts I've seen prior)

I do not believe the standard C6 has the Z06 differential. There are no gears available (yet) to change ratios for the 9" Z06 differential, it is common to change gears in the 8.5" C6 Coupe/Vert differential.

I've been under my 08 C6 Z51, and the Diff is large. I've also been in touch with Unitrax, and they don't quite have a diff ready for the 08s yet, so I'm quite sure the 08 Diff, at least on the Z51, and maybe on them all, is probably the same as the Z06.

Well the Z06 diff has a larger capacity for fluid. I know the diff was revised for 08 with smoother gears but I can't find any information on part numbers that would indicate they are both the same.

I don't think the diff is the same on the z06 vs. regular c6 as the z06 has larger gears and a diff cooler.
