Default 2008 C6 LS-3 First Dyno at LG Motorsports

Hi Guys,

We just put the first 2008 C6 LS-3 on the dyno. It is an automatic A6 paddle shift with 29 miles on it.

Huffines Chevrolet salesman, Scott Grahek, came over as soon as the car got unloaded (note the 29 miles)

The car looked great Red with the new Center Console in Carbon Fiber.

The dyno numbers came up really well, totally stock no changes at 370.8 rwhp and 663.8 rwtq.

I didn't get a chance to drive it but we have our own C6 sitting at the dealer as we speak.

The Car that we will have here on Tuesday will be a 6 speed, so we will get those dyno numbers up for you then.

Thanks guys.

Wow. Nice numbers. Looks like GM might have actually underrated the horsepower this time. It will be interesting to see what the average will end up being after a few more are dyno'ed. Thanks for the post!

Nice numbers for sure. Certainly stronger numbers than many were predicting.

Are there any potential problems with dynoing a car before the break in period is over? I only have about 180 , miles on my stock 07 and I would really like to get a baseline. I guess one answer would just be to drive the other 320 miles soon and then not worry about it.

Hi guys,

we will have the M6 version of it next week and will post up the dyno numbers then.

Our dyno numbers have been validated on many other dyno around the country so we expect to see similar numbers elswhere also.

Tuesday we will have the M6 here so stay tuned.

And keep in mind that this is stock as it is delivered just rolled on the dyno. Not even shure what gas was in it.

Thanks
LG

Lou,
What does a stock '06-'07 A6 average on your dyno........(I know of a dyno around here that they average 350 rwhp on .....I KNOW that's high). I'm curious what the actual difference is.

Thanks

Looking through the graphs on their website...

I would say the A6 cars average 330ish HP and 330ish TQ on L.G.'s Dyno

Wow, I'm shocked...and that torque is over 320 lb/ft higher than most had predicted too!

Dyno'd in 3rd or 4th gear?

Also curious if this car had the optional 2.73 gears and/or the optional NPP dual mode exhaust?

and that is a6, just wait until they dyno a ls3 m6 Z51....it probably would be over 400 lb/ft.

All kidding aside, if these numbers are legit (and I have no reason to believe they are not) and repeatable on the automatics then the manual cars really could see in excess of 385rwhp/380rwtq in stock trim, amazing.

The LS3 really makes great torque in the midrange. You can see the cam hasn't changed a lot as peak power is still at 6000 rpm. The extra 12 cubes would tell you that the LS3 should make another 11 rwhp instead of the actual 35 rwhp. However, the rest has to be the heads! Those are some great numbers for an A6. I'm betting the LS3 really responds to a decent cam without doing the heads. What a monster of a stock engine! My LS2 just became worth less!
