True.
I would want to enjoy the same gains of the Vararam on the highway/street (plate on) as I would get at the track as well but ya can't have it all I guess, unless you live Florida or another 'no front plate' state.

Anyone have concerns regarding injesting larger pieces of debry due to the open nature of the intake being right in front of your car? I would think that lpe or honker might not have these issues. Anyone???

It has a filter, and the grill is in front of it. How could it ingest large items?

I only meant like a rock, and I didn't mean into the engine. Basically, since it is open on the front, do you have to clean it more often then the other intakes? I'm trying to decide between the lpe, honker and vararam. It seems that the consensus is that the vararam is better. They all seem about the same, so I guess I was just looking for the extra reason(s) why one is better than the other.

It hasn't been an issue and I don't think anything like a rock could be sucked into and then up into the filter, and if it did somehow manage to get up in there it would just drop right out once you stopped moving.

Freak things can happen though, I had the BPP Vortex on my ZO6 and it sucked a plastic bag up into it that surounded the air filter and was choking my motor.

The filter in a vararam in a C5 did get dirty more often then the stock filter. It was easy to wash. I use to wash my quite often.

I love mine...I took it off and put the stock system back on and . You could really feel the difference putting it on, but taking it off it was rediculous....especially at speed!

Give forum dealer Rick at RickanthonyMotorsports.com a call, He gave me a good deal on my Vararam with spacer. He was offering the unit for 348 delivered without spacer and 389 with spacer.

Vararam says its worth another 5HP but who knows, some people say it works and some say it does nothing, I figured for 40 dollars I would put it in and keep telling myself I got the extra 5.

Good quality product and seems to be the best engineered if you ask me. That is my personal opinion.
I don't believe this is the case. "Vette" magazine tested the Corsa Sport exhaust last year and got 12 RWHP. Not a bad gain.

with spacer you can put your hand on tb its ice cold. so one more piece of metal not warming intake air. with the softness of it the tightening could change air flow so i dont think air flow is a factor. its mostly air charge cooler so it doesnt warm again before composite intake
