Default AEM 30-0334, OBD Passthru?

Thinking about buying the AEM 30-0334 but hearing that some have had issues with C6s not working well with the OBD Passthru devices.

I picked up the term 'OBD Passthru' from an online video & I understand it to be a 'Y' adapter with an extension cable (one OBD2 male to two OBD females) made for connecting multiple items to the OBD2 port.

If I understand how the AEM plugs into the OBD2 port and then the HPTuner MPVI2+ plugs into the AEM adapter/connector it would protrude down quite a bit. I would have trouble getting my big feet into the footwell.

It seems the 'OBD Passthru' would fix my problem & am asking if anyone has experience with them on c6s. Thanks

I don't think the C6 likes 2 devices hooked up together via a Y-adapter to the OBD2 port.

I say that because others have tried to attach there DashLogic while at the same time having HP Tuners up and scanning from the OBD2 port.

Just don't work out

I have my wideband permanently installed, it has a stand alone controller which has outputs to plug into the HP Tuners MPVI. This keeps the OBD port open all the time except for tuning or diagnostics.

So, I will have trouble trying to connect the AEM 30-0334 wideband via CAN and the HPTuners MPVI2+ interface at the same time?

I am no electronics expert, but I think you will have a problem with both attached to the OBD2 port via a Y-adapter ... but, give it a try ... that's the best you can do.

Please let us know the outcome.

No, it's a Daytona Sensors wideband controller with a built in gauge.

Just a thought ...

When using the DashLogic, it's pretty easy to keep an eye on your AFR while driving the car since it is displayed right there in front of you on the DIC.

1) stil confused: dashlogic = dash conroll?

2) does it indeed show oil temp? neither efilive nor gatget below will. i thought its not part of the obd and goes to the cluster only.

3) is all data "real time"?

this thread made me get this:

P12 Head Up Display OBD2 System Car Digital Speed Projector On-Board Computer Speedometer Water Oil Temp Electronics Accessories - AliExpress

its too big to put on the dash and has nothing to do with the hud. but its nicely made, it works on the c5 and c6, it deletes codes*, has alarms (ect, rpm work) and wil display quite a number of data. 13 are programable to the display, the rest in the dadastream. some are a bit weird, like percent engine load (what is that?), some are useless, but trims and o2 sensors are there. the oil temp alarm doesnt work, would have been too nice. biggest criticism: some delay in the data. rpm display is useless for this reason, but rpm alarm you have to set for a lower value anyway so it will work well on the track, i think. there is also the performance mesurement feature. i havent tried it yet. might it replace a dragy?

* it did delete the maf code on the c6. stupid thing, every time i disconect the maf the code appears and stays forever (i mentioned that in a recent thread). much easier than hoooking up efilife.

romandian ...

1. The DashLogic was designed and made by a company called Palmer Performance. Palmer sold the rights to DashLogic to the Autometer company. Then Autometer changed the name of the DashLogic to DashControl.

2. DashControl will display anything monitored by the car's ECM (and that's a lot of stuff).

3. It's all in 'real time'.

BTW ... It will also display on your HUD if you have one.

I have the aem obd2 wideband in my 08 z. Works perfect with hp tuners. I've had no problems at all with it in 2 years. I also have a dashcontrol plugged into it when not logging and that works fine as well. Without the dashcontrol, it protrudes down about 1.5 inches so shouldn't be a problem unless you're wearing clown shoes

If I try to use my NGauge and HP tuners to data log with splitter it's not happy. Log goes kinda crazy so I can see same happening with what you're trying to do.

I have the AEM in my car. No issues at all so far. Installed one on a gen 5 Camaro without issues too. I have not used my Dashlogic with with the wideband yet.

Update. My Dashlogic works fine with my AEM 30-0334 and I'm 6'4" and no issues for me getting in and out with it plugged in.

do i understand this correctly? you plug the gauge into the obd socket, plug (e.g.) efilive into the other side of the connector and logg the signal with efilive?

That's how it works with my HP Tuners, I assume efi live would be the same.
