2006 C6 E38 ECM replacement, car won't start am I missing something? HELP!!
Hello,
I have a 2006 C6 auto car that I was tuning that turned bad. At some point in the tuning process, the E38 ECM got bricked. I kept getting an error message saying Unable to detect the vehicles diagnostic protocol on my hp tuners screen.
Long story short I was unable to connect to ECM from the OBD 2 port. In the end, I explored many options and my last option was to get another ECM. I was able to find another E38 ECM with matching service number and OS number. The replacement ECM also came from a 2006 auto C6.
I received the ECM and did a vin number swap via HPTuner and plugged the replacement ECM into the car and then I was able to read and flash the ECM.
I went ahead and flashed the replacement ECM with the last tune file I had and then went to turn the car on.
At this point the car won't turn on and I can hear the fuel pump prime.
Am I missing a step?? I really need your help to figure this out.
Thanks,
Roger

Thanks for the direction. I turned the VAST off and the car cranks, and turns on now but runs rough. I got a code: P0315 Crankshaft Position system variation not learned.
I'll have to chase this new issue now. I guess I'll try and perform a crank relearn from the HP Tuner scanner under special functions.
