Default "New" Grand Sport (Bolt-on) record with Intune today!

This was done with the Intune "canned" 93 octane tune.

Check out the C6 1/4 mile times; see post#6738 page#337 for more info. "OR" JUST CLICK BELOW.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1585...-post6738.html

Edit: I just did a calculation for 1/4 mile HP which uses the cars weight (3355 lbs curb weight + 260 lb driver weight) and 1/4 mile trap speed. I rounded the weight & speed off i.e. 3600 lbs/125 mph. The formula that I used comes out to......... wait for it............... 544 HP! I do find that very hard to believe but who am I to argue with the math guys.
Maybe someone else here has a formula that uses 1/4 mile mph/weight?

I went 11.41 on all four "Bridgestone" runflats which actually weigh more than the OEM Goodyear runflats. Than I was loaned a pair of 17" Z06 wheels with 315/35 Hoosier drag radials, well my 60 ft. stayed the same on each set of wheels & tires at 1.75 but due to the lighter Z06 wheels/tires is why I think I picked up over two miles per hour and the 11.32 ET. Both runs were done in the same lane.

PS: I think the right torque converter is what I really need to pick up the 60 fts (and everything else).

Nice job representin' the GS's. In the low 11's with mere headers and tune and DR's.

BTW, here's how you link to individual posts (reply to this post to see the code) so people don't have to Google for them.

Mike, I "Thank You" for putting my feet on the Intune path. I know that I "maybe" leaving something on the table without a custom "Intune" tune. Hell, I have not even tried logging yet!

Best Regards,
Bill

I am glad to do what I can for the GS team. As far as the link goes, thanks for posting it but I did not see anywhere to reply. When it comes to computer stuff I am very far from the sharpest tool in the shed.

Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 435.33 rear wheel HP
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 500.09 rear wheel HP

Who cares about crank Hp? lol.

Also kinda hard to really read into it when its over -2000 Da..........

Go race in 0 Da or even 1000Da and see what the car runs. Sometimes i just feel like the guys on the east coast are cheating with racing in these stupid low DAs but when you call them out on it they act like the weather doesn't play that big of a roll. hahhaha

Your right! about the low DA, it helps a lot; but us east coaster's have no control over the weather, yet.

That be some good "rear wheel hp" you figured up I'm making from a set of 1 3/4" headers, an oem "home made" cai, drag radials and a Diablosport "canned" tune with an A6.

Thanks for computing the HP both ways. I think I would need an "Aftermarket Converter" to reduce the ET to where the "ET HP" might get close to matching the "MPH HP".

who cares about HP period?
The car went 125 mph in the quarter mile with simple bolt ons and a canned tune. That's a blatantly obvious sign of a well dialed in combo, that's well tuned, and properly driven. I don't care of you are in a mine shaft, this is still an impressive feat.

If it bothers you so much, you ought to bring your super combo out to the east coast and see what it can do. Otherwise, be happy the east coast guys are out there getting it done and not cruising around at 5 MPH wearing gold chains

Mike, I'm well aware he is bothered, even my 11.41 on all four "Bridgestone" runflats that weigh more than the OEM "Goodyear" runflats is a "lower" ET than his best running "approx." the same stuff in a lighter narrow/standard body.

Just a week or so ago another "stock" Grand Sport jumped into second place right behind me. If some other GS knocks me off in "stock" or "bolt-ons" running the same mods, than "So Be It".

I think what is really bothering ShaneFap is the fact that a heavier bolt-on GS is beating up on the lighter narrow bodies with the same bolt-ons in the C6 1/4 mile performance section. Amazing what a few bolt-ons and tune will do for the Grand Sport!

PS: Just to let everyone know, I carry a jack, some hand tools, air compressor, tire repair kit, lifting pucks, towing hooks and heavy duty jumper cables along with some clean rags in my car all the time including "at the track". It's a bad habit I learned in the Boy Scouts.

I don't get wrapped up in the whole gs vs zo6 vs regular c6 thing.
The only thing I was really stating and take it how you want but running in -2000 plus DA will give some stellar results as seen here. In drag racing sometimes people really don't realize how much weather can affect times.

Seems a little rude coming from a supporting vendor.
