Diablo Predator U7191 - Calibration issue - New Tuning Options??
I have had a diablo predator u7191 for a couple of years now. However, due to an old calibration on my 2005 C6, I have not been able to use it. I am not even sure if I can since I have not verified that it was unlocked from previous owner. Anyway, I was going to finally go get my ECM updated this weekend and try it.
However, is there a better choice? I know a professional tuner, but right now, all I have is a Vararam Intake. I plan to upgrade my exhaust (headers), install cam and possibly a supercharger. I will save the professional tune for that time.
I like to do my own work. I install my own stereo systems, I have done motor swaps, I do all maintenance, myself. I like the idea of learning to tune my own car. Maybe an HP Tuner? Do I need to upgrade my ECM calibration in order to use a professional installer or HP Tuner? I hate wasting money. I prefer to use if for car parts.
Thanks. I look forward to thoughts and suggestions.

you should still get your pcm updated, since you have that ollllld calibration on there... get it updated to the latest GM updates so it's current, and you'll be good to go.

Typo. It is a 2005.
Is there any way to tell if the stock tune was returned to the original owner's car in the state that this unit is in? It would make me feel better on programming my ECM.

options/show last tune written.
regardless, it will not let you tune yours if it has the old cal or if it is married to another vehicle...

It should be unlocked.
Once you get the PCM updated, load the tune and enjoy
Actually, what s the current revision on the tool?
Id suggest having at least 9r02 or 9r03 on it before you proceed.
