I bet this has been asked alot but what can you tell me about the effects a tune will have on my warranty, is there a cut answer or is it a "depends" on what your dealer wants to do. I would like to get my 08 tuned but don't want to mess with the warranty?

As you said this subject has been asked about a bazillion times over the past few weeks. If you are worried about how a change in the OEM calibration might/would affect your warranty then you should assume the worst and leave your car alone. From everything I've read GM' latest stance is rarely giving the benefit of the doubt in favor of the consumer when it comes to mod'd calibrations.

IMHO a tune on a stock car is a total waste in terms of "value added" when you factor in the potential warranty issue.

Bottom line: If you wanna play you gotta expect to have to pay!

Using a product like our Trinity or Predator will allow you to keep a copy of your stock tune with you at all times, so you can flash it back to stock at any time.

The tunes leave no trace of having been installed in your vehicle, and provide solid performance gains.

Thanks

Hp Tuners also has the ablity to save your stock file, when needed you can up load it back to the vehicle.

Thanks everyone, I was looking at Hp tune so may go with that, still not sure. I have hear that tuning a stock is not really worth it and I have also hear that the difference is WOW so still debating the issue.

hmm are you sure about this? i heard that if you tune it, it changes some numbers in the ecu that will not go back to the original numbers even after the ecu has been flashed back to stock? Maybe what i heard was wrong, id like to know more about this... Also is there anyway for the dealer to know how many times the ecu has been flashed?

Talk to your dealer first. Some don't care if you don't go into the engine.

Next, tuning a stock LS3 has some advantages. Don't expect much for the time and money, and, if you're worried about the Warranty that's the little voice inside saying "don't screw this up."
