Default EFI Live tune question on LS7

When the water temps on my forged LS7 get above about 215*F, it takes about 5 seconds or more of cranking before it finally stumbles into a rough idle. A few pumps of the gas pedal and the idle settles down. Can anyone point me to which table in EFIlive that will address this problem.

You could approach this from a couple of angles.

First 215*F is reasonably hot, quite a few guys rescale the fans with the fan patch to come on sooner. You can get it to hold engine temps around 195*F that might fix your issue and also give a little more power through cooler under bonnet temps etc.

Otherwise take a look at cranking idle air as well as cranking commanded fuel (B0138, B1832) for example.

There are a bunch of spark tables that interact and getting it to start up nicely when warm is an art. If you'd like to email me your tune I can make some changes and send it back. That would be easier than trying to explain over the internet.

As a rule of thumb, what needs to be done? less cranking air/timing or more?

It has way more to do with the timing tables than it does any of the airflow tables. Matter of fact, the closer you get to optimum on the timing tables, the less airflow you'll need both in the idle table, and the cranking airflow table, which helps a bunch on the flare up when starting up warm.

Thanks Ed.

I take it that doesnt always apply, for example with certain cams?
But always good to sponge up more info.
