Default Diablosport tune

Currently my 08 Vette has a Diablosport tune in it. I am considering purchasing an 09 Vette, and I was wondering if I remove the performance tune from the 08 and restore the stock tune, will I be able to put the performance tune into the 09?

yes... by restoring the original backup to your 08, it will unlock the predator and you will be able to update it to the latest revision for 09 support and then use it on your 09 vette.

Similar question, can a Diablosport that has tuned one car be used just to take torque management out of a second car without installing their tune? I have a friend that has used one to put a predator tune into his "07 and I'd like to use it on my car to get rid of torque management, which is killing me at the drag strip. The car is going to get a proper tune once the headers and Vararam go on, but that's not going to happen for a while. This is one of those things that would be nice if it can be done, but no big deal if it can't. I posted this in the tech forum and got contradictory answers.

i have a u7194 with the latest download (in fact forsale in the parts section) i didn't see anything in the tune to remove torque management at least on my 2008. amyways i'm pretty sure you can only use it on one car at a time as it "marries" the vin#

nope, can't do that... you can only tune one vehicle at a time...

as was mentioned above, once you tune a vehicle with it, the predator becomes "married" / locked to that vehicle and can not be used on any other one.

and there is no Torque Management removal that you can do anyway... the TM is reduced/removed in the canned preset diablo tunes on the engine side... there is no tranny adjustments available at this point.

Ok, so once paired wtih a vehicle the tuner can't be used again unless the tune is pulled from the first car, gotcha. As far as torque management, according to the Diablosport web page it can be taken out with the Predator. If you go to the U7194 page, on the right side of the page is a red link for more details on how to adjust parameters. If you click that link you get the following information:

GM Predator parameters explained

We dedicated this page to explain the different parameters that the Predator allows the end user to adjust.
Please note that all parameters listed may not be available on all part numbers.

Torque Management
Injector Slope
Spark Adjustment
COT Protection
Cooling fan adjustment on new LS2/LS4/LS7 and 2007 Truck & SUV's
Tire size adjustment

Torque Management
PLEASE NOTE: Disabling torque management will put greater stress on your drive line.

TM Abuse Mode time limit:

This is the time in abuse mode as a function of temperature. Turning it off in conjunction with Upshift Torque reduction and %Torque Reduction vs RPM will eliminate torque management.

%Torque Reduction vs RPM:
Torque reduction as a function of RPM, turning it off in conjunction with TM abuse mode time limit and upshift torque reduction will eliminate torque management.

Upshift Torque reduction:

Torque reduction control for each individual gear, turning it off in conjunction with TM abuse mode time limit and %Torque Reduction vs RPM will eliminate torque management. However we have noticed that the shift feel when disabling the upshift torque reduction in trucks and SUV's is reduced and therefore recommend leaving it ON for trucks and SUV's.

correct, that does not apply to ALL vehicles or ALL predators... as it says in their disclaimer, that not all adjustments are available on all vehicles/predators...

those TM adjustments are available only on 2006 or earlier vehicles... there's no TCM support / tranny adjustments available for anything 2007 or newer...

and it is not available on yours... cuz there is no TCM support for your vehicle yet...
