Default Predator vs. original 05 ECM

I purchased a brand new Predator U7191 for 05 C6 auto. At this point it is a glorified code reader only. It does not recognize my CALID for
ecm which I presume is because I never had the reflash due to DBS.
A member was good enough to send me some old CROM files to downgrade the predator, however the tool will not accept these
"outdated files" as they are referred to on the device.

So I am trying to decide to give up and return or try to get my ECM reflashed at this point. Not sure if GM would or if it would cause more issues than it's worth. I have had some freaky moments, but nothing that amounts DBS in all its forms. Any thoughts? Perhaps another programming tool?

Well...perhaps I've answered my own question. Thanks to BEZ06 for the initial helps.

The first thing after hookup is activating Performance Tune accepting the warnings, selecting auto or manual, then it reads...12595692 p/n not recognized, continue. That is the CALID for the ECM. It was able to list out 5 CALID but can't get past this one. From what I've read probably due to never having the reflash. In fact, Diablo's site has said as much to others that they need to have the reflash done. Seems too antiquated if that is the case.

By the way, no Onstar to mess with and I have the engine off.

correction- says 12595692 part number not found in database, continue. Hit continue and it goes back to original screen with performance tune, diag, option, tool.

aaaah... yep... you need to get your ecm updated by the dealer... that's a known and common issue... you have an older calibration ID...

tell your dealer that that your experiencing a battery run-down condition - it's a known issue and there's a GM TSB about it as well.. shouldn't cost you anything... they'll update the ecm with the new GM calibration, and you'll be all set to go.

just make sure you restore original backup to your car before you take it in to the dealer to have that new update flashed.

Well, I think that since I haven't been able to do anything that the original is untouched. But I will check again, seems I saw that listed on
some function, tunes imported or something, it just states Original.

it's not the predator man... it's your car.. you have an old calibration on it, as I mentioned in my previous post above.. you need to get your pcm flashed/updated at the dealer to get a newer calibration ID on it....

here's others that had the same issue:
