Default Fix 1-2 shift A6

Has anyone fixed the A6 1-2 shift problem, hiting the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift in Auto mode (I know only a few are having the problem)

What did you do to fix it?

I was thinking lower the shift point or raise the rev limiter?

I know there are things you can and cannot due to the A6 can this be done safely?

I have HP tuners, but I am a total Novice, and all the tuners around here have limited to no exp with the A6.

TIA

YOU COULD JUST RAISE THE LIMITER 200RPM, BUT THE SAFEST WAY MAY BE TO LOWER THE 1-2 SHIFT ON BOTH TABLES...PART THROTTLE SHIFT AND FULL THROTTLE SHIFT SPEED OR YOU CAN DO IT ALSO, BY LOWERING FULL THROTTLE SHIFT RPM TABLE BY 100RPM, UNTIL IT GOES AWAY.

You're just matching the 100% throttle with the WOT shift table. It's just a blend that you'd be doing.

Shift mph is set to 37 and shift rpm is set to 6400

the car shifts around 50mph

37 mph is 4700rpm
50 mph is 6400rpm

Is my understanding that the car has to hit 37mph and 6400 b4 it wil shift?

Why is the mph set so low?

Will changing the mph to 35 work or will it still need to hit 6400rpm?

Or is that 37 a percentage? if so of what?

Sorry for all the dumb questions

WOT Shift Speed vs Shift Normal
-----------0-100
1->2 Shift 37 37
2->1 Shift 34 34

PART THROTTLE SHIFT TABLE HAS 100% TPS (WOT) IN IT. I LIKE THEM TO MATCH

OK...YOUR'S IS THE SAME AS MY STOCK FILE, SO THERE SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM THERE.

50 SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT FOR MY WOT 1-2 SHIFT, SO I BELIEVE IT EITHER IGNORES THE WOT MPH TABLE, AND GOES FOR THE WOT RPM TABLE. IT MIGHT BE AN "AND"...NOT SURE.

37 IS THE MPH OF SHIFT, NOT PERCENTAGE OF TPS.

IF YOU ARE HITTING FUEL CUTOFF...YOU CAN TRY LOWERING WOT RPM TABLE BY 100, BUT YOU SHOULDN'T BE HITTING IT. MOST TUNERS ALSO SEEM TO BUMP UP STOCK REV LIMITER 200RPMS SAFELY, SO YOU CAN STILL DO THAT.

LET ME KNOW.

I HAVE A GREAT FILE FOR THE "S" MODE THAT I'VE SPREAD OUT SHIFTS BETTER, INCREASED DOWNSHIFT TOUCHINESS, AND ELIMINATED 5TH AND 6TH. I LOVE IT FOR AROUND TOWN...THEN ON HIGHWAY I JUST LEAVE IN DRIVE FOR 29MPH. GOT TO LOVE IT.

Internet decorum. When you wish to emphasize something or let it be know that you are being "forceful", you put everything into all caps. Thus the norm is lower case with appropriate CAPS in standard English context.

All caps is always considered yelling, sorry, that's the way it is. I run LS2.com and we have an "ALL CAPS" hack that we put on people that type all CAPS. It changes the text to lower case.

I'm sure the initial mention of "ALL CAPS" was not offered in a rude or arguementative way but simply a suggestion to conform to the norm of internet communication.

It seems apparent that the person has technical knowledge and that is always a good thing to have on a car site.

Elmer

Actually as one of the owners, I do. We try and keep the site calm. You on the other hand don't seem to understand English and simply wish to be a bit offensive and continue to post in CAPS.

I tried to be polite and discuss this calmly. Now, it appears that you are hopeless. Type in CAPS all you want, I'll simply put you on my ignore list and not be distracted again.

Later.
