Car won't start b/c of part that doesn't exist?
I bought my 2007 corvette coupe a few months ago. The automatic gear shift got stuck in neutral and it wouldn't start a few weeks ago. I had it towed to the local chevy dealer on a flatbed truck and they said Part #25940664 (Remote Control Door Lock and Anti-Theft Deterrent Receiver) has failed. They have tried to find the part from other Chevy dealers with no luck. I have placed multiple orders for this part online which have all been cancelled as backordered/out of stock the next day with no ETA on when/if this part will ever exist again.
Is there anyway to find this part for a 2007 Vette? I am basically being told that without this $150-200 electronic part, my car will never start again, how is that possible??? I have never heard of anything like this and am curious what the vette experts here can tell me since I am not a mechanic or a vette expert so any info is greatly appreciated. The car is beautiful, only 16k miles and worked perfect until this part failed and it wouldn't start or go into Park or Reverse (just stuck in N and D which killed the battery at the dealer too).
Pleading with those that may be able to help me, not sure what to do other than stop making payments and let the repo man tow it away LOL.

Ok guys,
The part was delivered today, it had a newer date on it and the part was #25938511 instead of 25940664. It looks identical and is from a C6 also so I can't imagine it won't work but my fingers are crossed. And yea, I don't think major changes are in the cards, I don't know what a holly efi is and how that relates to the remote control door lock and anti theft deterrent receiver but if this doesn't work, a plan B might be needed.
