First of all I will tell you i work for Raybestos. I run ATD top of the line ceramic friction on both of my Vettes. I have a 99 that I updated to C6 Z51 set up. I use this car for autocrossing and street use. I also have an 09 c6 vert that I run the same set up on. I am in a job that I am able to test competitors friction and have run their friction and have not had any real problems with anyones friction. Make sure that whoever installs the friction on your car does it correct. Ceramic pads are not very forgiving.

I have brake motive's z06 ceramic pads and love them. I bought their zink coated rotors and pads together. PM them for a price. looks like an $84 difference.

you are correct. Unfortunately the worn byproduct of ceramic pads has to go somewhere. It has a habit of bonding on the face of the rotor. it will find a high spot(run out) or a low spot (thickness variation) and deposit it there. In about 5000 miles you will start feeling it by pulsating brakes when they are applied.

Would new rotors, properly bedded at the time of the install of the pads prevent that from happening?

Never had that problem on any one of my (4) c6's that I have had.

If you think You need new rotors , do what I did. Zink rotors never rust with ceramic pads....$490.00 SHIPPED. they used to be $385 shipped a few months ago.

Interesting - explains this same exact problem I had with my Z06 rotors twice. I had some knucklehead swerve into my lane @ 70 mph (as i was passing) and I had to shove the brake pedal to the floor to avoid a disaster. I then noticed that the pulsating disappeared.
